Full Auto demo heading to the Xbox Live Marketplace
While we're on the topic of
destructive driving games, Full Auto producer
Cord
Smith decided to let us know that a demo download of the game has already been submitted to Microsoft, and the
final code should be ready for full certification by Christmas.
The Pseudo Interactive game everyone compares to Burnout—except with guns!—should hopefully be ready for a
February debut, and this demo oughtta whet people's appetites for some rowdy racing (i.e., your car won't handle like a
"pregnant cow") by the start of spring.
We here at Joystiq applaud this excellent use of Live's Marketplace for demo downloads of delayed games (anyone else
interested in a trial of Oblivion?). They may not be the full retail
versions—yet—but they're a start. For some well-done video advertisements
from the publisher, check out the Sega Labs site opened for the game recently.
It's good, campy fun.
[Thanks, Mike McLin]

bottom line xbox live is the best.

This demo was already released in the (excellent) latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine which also contains playable Xbox 360 demos of Kameo and King Kong among many 720P videos, etc. It is a hybrid Xbox 1/Xbox 360 disc.
Full Auto is mighty impressive, if basic.

Well i just read the xbox live marketplace now has Lost Planet trailer! Does the Official Xbox Magazine have that?

Nope. It has trailers for Mass Effect, Gears of War, a bunch of other stuff we've probably already seen (PGR, Kameo, etc. - I am not in front of the disc so I am not sure off the top of my head), and the playable demos I mentioned.
I think the disc + marketplace is a good combo, especially when you don't want to sit and wait for a while for something to download. (I have an 8mbit/sec connection and downloads of demos still take a while.)

This is agonizing. My best friend put alot of blood, sweet, and tears into this game and I can't even tell him what I think of it because I still don't have a 360 to play it on. :(
Gimbal @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
Oops. I meant sweat, not sweet. Although I'm sure a can of Coke was spilled at some time during Full Auto's development.

I'm normally not into racing games too much personally. However, when we got to play this one a couple of months ago, it SO reminded me of Steve Jackson's Car Wars, which was one of my favorite games when I was younger.
There's just something special about running down a street, starting to get passed by someone - and then firing a machine gun at them - that makes it slightly reminiscent of Spy Hunter as well.
That, and the nicely destructible environment was good. This one should be a good seller.
(And before anyone says, hey, it's not released yet, how could you have played it months ago - debug copy and company rep.

I'm looking forward to Full Auto, I read some of the tech papers at Pseudo's website and they look very interesting. A lot of people whine about the game not looking 'next gen' however the effort they put into making a multi-core physics and graphics engine sure sounds amazing.
Oh and marketplace does have a Lost Planet trailer, it just appeared last night. I haven't watched it yet though I expect it will be the same as the movie on Capcom's site. (480p and 720p versions)

Excellent issue of Official Xbox magazine ?.Yeah if you have an Xbox 360 and don't mind 50% of a magazine being full of advertisments.I guess you just look at the pictures though .A hybrid CD for a hybrid console.
Adam Carrico @ Dec 18th 2005 9:37PM
Yeah people are posting it like it's a big deal everywhere coming to Marketplace when I got it from my Xbox magazine the other day. I now need a 360 to play it on.

If this game can bring back some great memories of Deathtrack (on the old AT/XTs), then I'm all for it. A next-gen follow-up to Roadwar 2000 would be nice, too. =)
