They need to fix that and fix the antiquated xbox live features/interface to make this a truely great game.

Yes, I also hope they fix their live interface and the insufferable lag and disconnects. When I can actually play this game online, its pretty damn fun.

Man, not only has the X-box 360 had flaws of its own, but game developers using the system for games are really dropping the ball badly with this. They need to get in gear, yaknow?

ARGH!!! Not another flippin' patch on a console game. First you post about UBI and KK's darkness on SDTV, so UBI may release a patch over live, now ACT will release a patch for a glitch....

Great, now the system IS just a glorified PC!!!!!

(Bashing, but not BASHING. I still want (will try to get) an X360 for the live component and new games. But, seriously LIVE is for enrichment of games, NOT A PATCH ENGINE!!!)

MS had better up thier reliability and SEAL of approval requirements for releasing a game. People blame(d) UBI for the KK darkness, but remember all FINAL code is supposed to go through MS quality to get approved for use on the console, so MS is just as much to blame!!

This is a console, NO PATCHES, PERIOD!!! This is so unacceptable.

Yeah. No more mistakes allowed ever! and if a mistake gets made, I want to be stuck with it. No more being sneaky and trying to fix your mistakes! Jerks!

I agree with Erick(post#4), what if you are not connected, you know, some people don't have internet, & to my knowing there's no mention of needing an internet connection to be able to play the games, again Microsoft is ripping the "wallets", I mean the customers, the qualilty controls are indeed bad, and a patch isn't definitly a solution, the era of beta gaming has begun... no thanx, I belong to the true golden realm of Nintendo gaming, VIVA LA REVO!!!

Quality control just checks that the game works - not that it is easily playable, or a 'good' game. Also, games have always had glitches. At least now they can be fixed.

Pennywise, you are not very wise, what about getting games that actually work out of the box, this "dependency" of add-ons, patches reminds me of the drug-addict/dealer pattern...

Yea, console games are generally expected to ship bug-free. This sets a bad precedent. It means that dev. time can always be rushed because you can just band-aid stuff later.

Phooey

pointfour, if a game that corrupts a gamesave is the definition of a working game then I'm Superman, such a flaw is major, & if the Microsoft quality controls are just to verify if the game boots, then I repeat myself, they suck, if you want ot know what is real quality control, just play some Nintendo stuff, & I don't mean only the games, the same applies to the hardware, try to balance your thoughts before writting, burpin whateva you're randomly thinking often results in your kind of posts ;)

Petey, I agree that quality controls should be better, but I also live in reality and have realistic expectations. I understand that people make and test these games and that people make mistakes.

So, since we can both agree(i hope) that humans can and will make mistakes, why limit ourselves by not allowing these mistakes to be corrected?

Pennywise, much wiser now :) I agree that making errors is human, I'm not saying that Nintendo is flawless, but working with Microsoft products for years I can definitly say that it's a policy from them to sell unfinished products, so you have to visit their site, download, so they can monitor you & market beta products so you'll do the test so it's cheaper for them, Nintendo seems to manage this light-years better, so for me it's definitly Microsoft at their worst, & they have no excuse, except the ones that brainless fanboys try to make up...

I haven't had any trouble with my copy. Sometimes I sign in after the game is loaded or before. I also have two other people on the console who play the game besides me, without problems also. So far the 360 has been flawless!

One could be generous and contribute this early rough patch to a rush to get games out on launch.

However, as someone waiting for a pre-order to come in, I'm becoming a little more wary about the 360 and its developers esp. in light of MS's promises that the 360 would be functional/operational on standard definition.

I'm hoping that the recent delays in titles that were to be released around launch (Oblivion and Saints Row) are partly dedictated to removing problems such as those exhibited by COD and King Kong.

If there weren't no Xbox Live, Activision would have had to recall all CoD 2 that have been sold. Seriously, not being able to progress through a game after a certain level is a HUGE bug that shouldn't have been there in the first place. Only about 10% of Xbox owners subscribe to Xbox Live, what will the other 90% do?

Oh no! oh no no no no! Dear god no! don't turn consoles into PCs! The reason I always loved consoles is because you didn't have to install anything, you didn't need to read system requirements, and you didn't need to buy additional hardware. You just buy the console, and buy the games and they work. Once games started going online, I was a little worried at first but it turned out okay. Now this is just crazy. I would think that Xbox people would rather use Live to play games not to fix them.

I have a PS2 and I play lots of online games, they don't need patches, they just work. The lack of unified online service for PS3 is starting to sound like a good thing, since developers wont have an excuse not to do better QA before they release games.

Hackers Dream Land is a non-unified online service. Xbox Live can actually lay down justice instead of just booting a player off of a single game.

What happens if you dont have the hard drive? Is it possible to run patches off the memory card? Would this open up a hole for hackers?
