Even better 8-bit Christmas music

8bits of ChristmasIf you liked yesterday's post highlighting 16 Christmas classics reduced to 8-bit synth goodness, then you owe it to yourself to check out The 8bits of Christmas by the collective of blip-pop artists who reside at 8bitpeoples.com.

Perhaps you hated yesterday's post because you side with Joystiq reader Sturat, who wrote, "It doesn't sound enough like videogame music. It needs percussion and fewer sound channels. Fan works like these mainly serve to remind us how talented the real game composers really were." If so, you still owe it to yourself to check out The 8bits of Christmas by 8bitpeoples, the collective of artists who love classic video games and love making music inspired by them.

The album includes the following songs. Personal favorites Nullsleep and Bit Shifter cut a couple of the tracks, in addition to some folks I hadn't had the pleasure of listening to yet:

01. Yerzmyey - Jesus Holy, Born So Lowly
02. Nullsleep - Silent Night
03. Vim - When A Child Is Bored
04. Paul Slocum - Up On The Housetop
05. Bit Shifter - Let It Snow
06. Goto80 - Last Christmas Hot Digi Rmx
07. Dma-Sc - The First Blip Blop Noel
08. Hally - Xmas Songs Arcade Punk Mix
