Chicago-based Midway Games is closing the doors of its San Diego
and Adelaide, Australia offices leaving over 100 unemployed less than two weeks before the Christmas holiday. Midway
has fallen on hard times recently after reporting a $29.1 million Q3 loss and the San Diego-based office just launched
Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows to mostly mediocre
reviews. It's also been only four months since former Australian developer Ratbag became Midway's seventh studio.
At least senior VP Matthew Booty was kind enough to deliver the news in person to his former mates down under. Maybe
he'll give them all Midway standup arcades as parting
