Xbox Live mobile messages

Imagine getting a message like "Hiro Protagonist wants to play Perfect Dark Zero with you" on your mobile device. The idea here is being able to integrate the MSN Messenger service into Xbox Live so you and your friends could alert each other when playing games online. According to Jason Langridge of Microsoft UK, gamers could start expecting this system to be in place in the next six months.

Oh yeah, and this also falls in line with Microsoft's push to bring their online services under one flagship, namely Windows Live.

This is not "new" by any stretch of the imagination. Xbox Live for the original Xbox had this feature; I used it many a time.

Unfortunately, with the Xbox.com revamp, this feature seems to have disappeared. Hopefully it makes a comeback; I've posted a message asking Major Nelson about it.

This would be awesome. MSN Messenger on our PC or PocketPC with Live would tie everything together. Right now the xbox forums are a great tie with the 360, but we are missing the Messenger connection to really take this to the next level. Can't wait for this.
