Two short Japanese TV spots have been released for the upcoming Xbox 360
RPG Blue Dragon, by former Square stalwart and father to
Final Fantasy Hironobu Sakaguchi.
The airship-style nod to the former franchise was easy to see
in one ad, but the musical influences for the two clips may be a bit harder to make out. Judging by the soundtrack contributions by
Nobuo Uematsu (Mr. Final Fantasy
himself), we’d say that the background tune used most closely resembles that of Celes’s theme from Final Fantasy
VI.
No word yet on TV spots for Mistwalker’s other 360-exclusive RPG, but you gotta
love those next-gen reflections in the water. Toriyama-drawn Dragon Quest-like characters, mixed with
realistic environments and lighting… like Sakaguchi-san says in the commercials, Sugoi!
