New details have emerged for EA's latest game adaptation in the pipeline for The Lord of the Rings series, and it's got tantalizing new locales like the
aforementioned dwarven mountain strongholds (from the Northern Lands, naturally) to lure in fantasy strategists
disillusioned by previous efforts.
Last we heard, Elrond himself
was getting his real voice actor behind the sequel, so it's nice to hear
of the most recent developments for the licensed franchise. For instance, you can now look forward to people, places,
and things mentioned by the books but not covered by the movies,
including a new goblin faction based in the northwest, the dark fortress of Dol Guldur, as well as the hero fathers of
some famous Rings characters we've come to know and love.
We don't know whether this will change Peter
Jackson's mind about the games based on his films, but getting a chance to sack
the Shire has gotta be a good place to start. Playable dark lord Sauron, we choose you!
