On Monday, Reggie
(of Nintendo USA) hosted a meet-up at a McDonalds in
Bellevue, Washington with the aim of kicking back and playing some Mario Kart DS with the fans. He also happened to
reveal a couple of interesting facts regarding the Nintendo Revolution, which you’d know if you’ve read our earlier post.
Today we received a couple of tips from readers that were at the event. Terry’s opinion of the event, in his own words, was that the event was “kind of lame”. Apparently Reggie was only there for around 20 minutes, just long enough for him to play a couple of games and have his photo taken. Also according to Terry, there wasn’t altogether that much gaming going on - which was one of the main reasons for the meet-up. Worryingly for Nintendo, this wouldn’t be the first time “The N” has thrown a bad show for the DS.
However, CHARMANDER4EVER (sic) over at the Nintendo forums had a different opinion of the event. He wasn’t there for the freebies, or even to get a glimpse of the “Regginator”. Nope, he was there to meet up with fellow gamers from the forum and “have fun”. Which he did - just like the guy on the right owning Reggie.
[Thanks, Anand]
