’Tis the season—for long travelling to see loved ones (and other relatives). Then finding a way
to pass the time while you’re stuck at Great Aunt Mildred’s house all day. Then travelling home again.
Fortunately, there’s a good range of titles available for your portable system of choice, and Wired has
taken a quick look at the RPGs available.
There are plenty of other genres and specific titles that
would fill a journey nicely—you can probably finish Another Code: Two Memories (DS) in the time it takes
to get across a state, and Lumines (PSP) is a good
puzzler for shorter journeys. The advantage of the PSP over the DS here is that—if you can afford it—carrying one or two UMD movies will
help fill a couple of hours too. Game and UMD movie rental
may be a good alternative, although postal services will be slower than usual.
