Kingdom Hearts II intro movie & game in Japan
The
pre-rendered intro movie to Kingdom Hearts II has been released online, just as the game's been released to
stores in Japan. Watch the video marked from December 21st on the video page here for all 5 minutes' worth of CG goodness. If Utada Hikaru's return as the featured Kingdom Hearts vocalist isn't enough to endear the mashed-up intro to you, at least be content in knowing that Famitsu gave the game a lofty 39/40 combined review score. Most impressive.
Of course, figuring out what's being said in Japanese transfers can be tough (at least, without an adequate translation), but you will get to catch a bit of what an overseas voice actor for main character Sora sounds like without the need to import.
[Thanks, alvin]

TOTALLy unrelated... I wanted to submit this to the news tips, but it didn't work! The message must be spread, but I don't want to lose my bandwidth... but here goes.
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, new info here.

On topic, I'm looking forward to this coming out in english. But right now, all else pales in comparison to GC/Revo Twilight Princess in my mind.

Ok, after watching the intro movie, it does look pretty interesting. It kind of does a flashback through KH1 and Chain of Memories, then sort of ends with a kid underwater. A good watch.
Very sorry about my first post, mods can delete it. After reading the information.

The thing gets a bit slow during parts of it. At 4 minutes it would have been better, but parts of it really dragged.
I liked the transition into underwater, but I thought it was kind of weird how Sora ended up looking like Denzel from Advent Children.

39/40, huh? Does anyone know how this compares with their review of the original, which I still consider an admittedly entertaining but fairly flawed work? The level design in the original just didn't do that much for me (particularly on the Tarzan level), and I don't recall the camera being terribly friendly, either.
Don't even get me started on gummi ships...

All good points on the original, Kai. I hope they fix most of the problems cited in the sequel, which has had quite a bit of time in the oven.
Alkaiser, I forgot to mention in the original post how much closer the character designs are to Advent Children now (at least the pre-rendered "older" parts of the game). With Nomura running things, the similarity was probably inevitable.

Wow, the clip is awesome.
I agree that the character designs are very close to Advent Children.
Hope to get ahold of this one soon!
