Wrestle Kingdom recalled; 360 hopes pinned on DoA4
Wrestle
Kingdom, the post-launch Japanese title for the Xbox 360, has been pulled from store shelves because "the
game had trouble detecting the amount of free space on a hard drive and wouldn't let players save their games."Exchanges are being offered for current owners who got their hands on copies of the game, but the game will not be re-released until new copies without the distressing bug can be produced.
Microsoft's having its fair share of problems in Japan with the 360 launch all right, so the arrival of Dead or Alive 4, its other grappling game of interest, becomes all the more important for our Far East friends. While MS might not have that other Kingdom game arriving on store shelves for its console of choice, at least this product delay won't have too much immediate impact on markets outside this key Asian nation.

Dammit! What about the US? Why didn't WE get Wrestle Kingdom?!?! THAT is the game I want on the 360. What the hell?
Are we going to be forced to wait for a WWE title? If so, that sucks, because I am SO not interested in DOA4 if that's supposed to be the substitute. DOA sucks. If I want to watch anime characters beat on each other to express their sexual repression, I'll go to a cosplay event.

for a multi-billion dollar company, Microsoft looks really amateur (inept).

how the hell can a bug like this get past Q+A? It just goes to show that publishers are more willing to push out buggy code because it can be patched over Live. It's a bad way to do business, and an awful way to treat your customers.

no big deal.

It's unclear from the article here, but I've read reports where it was pulled before it was even sold, or shortly after it was made available. Considering the few consoles sold in Japan, it's doubtful if many copies were sold before being pulled. I've also read that the problem didn't occur all the time, which it why it wasn't caught sooner.
At least the developer pulled the software as soon as the mistake was found to correct the issue, unlike with Kong and the HD vs SD issue.
