Rare's next game to be revealed before E3 2006

On their latest update of the "stupid Rare letters page" (their words, not ours), the Rare Scribes were asked by BK GiRL (about halfway down the page) if they were "ready to announce any [undisclosed titles] to the public, or are we gonna have to wait until E3 2025?" The Scribes' reply, simply, was that there was "no word on upcoming games yet, but hopefully there'll be a bit of a 'blowout' sometime prior to E3 '06."

While not enormous news - it should not come as a surprise to anyone that Rare is working on a game - it is indeed interesting that they have been this closed-lipped about a title that will be seen in the next 6 months. Rare has notoriously-long development cycles, so they might already be pretty far along on a title that would warrant a media blowout. Whether it is a franchise extension or something completely original is also hard to say, but we'll keep an eye out on the Scribes page if they reveal anything else.
