While we can probably expect IGN's roster of embittered journalists to get sentimental about the holidays as much as expect the DS to concede to the PSP (that's because IGN only employs robots; hee, we're so witty), they nonetheless look back on the year that was in gaming and give their impressions on the successes and slight missteps made within this multi-billion dollar industry. We saw two console releases this year, the other being our beloved PSP, and IGN was kind enough to toss out a quick blurb on it. Well, when we say "kind" we mean PS2 EIC Jeremy Dunham said it scored a 6 out of 10 for gaming, but it was pretty great everywhere else, especially movies. We agree with him that the "killer app" for the PSP is still nowhere in sight for 2006, but we're hoping that the arrival of titles like Exit and Spectral Souls will give our baby a much needed boost in reputation.
