You blew $300 or $400 to play an old game that should have been available on the original Xbox instead.

#3: It is available on the original Xbox, it's a hidden mini game in one of the racing games, can't remember which one.

I'm downloading it now, as my friend plays it in the background, it's taking away from my doa 4 time!

This old-hatness on a cutting edge console is quite interesting.

It's good to see that simple games can compete for peoples attention with the latest big-budget offerings, should be an insiration for all cash strapped developers.

Or is it testament to the standard of the 360's launch games?

Not played either so I can't say either way.

Right. You're not allowed to have fun with video games if they're not multimillion dollar graphical fiestas with bump-mapping, advanced particle physics, and 32-bit textures, none of which make the game ANY MORE FUN TO PLAY. If you don't like it, then shut up, and let others enjoy what they love.

Virtuous and deafie

Stop being moronic. Its in addition to the rest of the games. No one has bought the 360 just for that game. Use your Stupid ass head every once in a while.

Oh and that rite, it was available in project gotham racing 2 mini game. You should buy something and then play it before talking out of you fat ass.

I love how all the people bitching about the Revolutions rumored graphics capabilities are using their super high tech most fantastic of all xbox 360 to play something so simple it could run on a Super Nintendo.

The Genesis can handle those graphics. Sad to say, this is the best game available for the 360.

i believe Alot of people arnt seeing the bigger picture. This goes to shows the true potential of Xbox live. building communities like the old arcade where people can play there favorite games with/or against People playing the same games. am I the only one who remembers how fun it was having the high score at pacman or kicking someones ass at street fighter 2.

people will whine about anything...god forbid a developer (who also happened to put out arguably the best looking console game to date) should release an engaging game that doesnt fit the 'norm'. How about you idiots try something like this before chiming in with your ignorant rants, oh that's right, you're either waiting for your next $3,000 PC upgrade or are holding out for some other vaporware console that will 'allegedly' be out in '06...

Anyone making comments about the exact look and feel of GW being possible on the SNES or Megadrive must be making the comments on the low res video.

Look at this is real life and there is NO WAY one of those consoles could throw all that around and warp the space background gravity like this game does without monster processing power.

Whining about the tech is missing the point anyway. I have 7 commercial games for my 360 and love most of them. The machine is simply amazing. However, NOTHING takes the skill and reactions that GW does. People that can score 4 million plus have simply incredible skills and I admire them for it as does the poster of this article.

All you whingers should give it a try and I would be you don't even score 200,000!

PS. I will be buying a PS3 and a Revolution too. I'm a gamer and just want to play the best games. What does it matter who makes a system?

To the people who don't see the point in this;

There's a thing called money, and Microsoft are losing it every time they make an Xbox 360. They gain some when they sell games, but not everyone is willing to pay that much for PGR3 etc.

So the cheap people like myself can buy a couple of full games, then give Microsoft 400 credits and buy a highly addictive arcade game. Microsoft are selling these games because without it the Marketplace would be rather boring.

Like the other guy said, it's showing how Xbox Live brings people together not just on the 'box but also online, ie here and on Bizarre's forums, and also shows how people can make so much out of such a small cheap game.

Also without these games I would have had nothing to play for 24 hours when I got my console (Tesco only had one copy of PDZ in).

I agree with poster #3, 4, 5, and 6. Its a shame that there are people playing Xbox 360, the supposed high-end, high def game console for low-tech sprite pushing games like this Gemotry Wars. It reminds me of those fans of Tempest 2000 for Atari Jaguar, a game that's not that far from this 360. Ironically Jaguar was a system criticized for carrying way to many games that mirrored what could have been worked on 16-bit system so its funny how Xbox 360 with Geometry Wars is practically reinventing the wheel.

The game was hidden in Project Gotham Racing 2 for the original XBOX:

"Geometry Wars is pretty well-hidden, in an area of the game you'd normally never need to visit, but easy enough to access. Simply start PGR2 as normal, select a Kudos World Series game, and progress as normal until you get to the Car Select screen. There you should see an option at the bottom of the screen to go to your Garage.

Select that, then press the Yellow button to enter "Walk Mode". Use the analogue sticks to walk around (left stick for move and sidestep, right stick for rotate - no legacy mode, tsk) and explore the various contents of your garage until you come to the arcade cabinet at the right-hand end. Go up to it and press the Green button to start Geometry Wars."

So then us people who play the Xbox360 are allowed to degrade you guys saying "You spent 200 bucks on a Revolution to play old NES games?" just like you do with this, correct?

People enjoy the game so why does it bother you? What about it in any way or any aspect has anything to directly involve you? I think you just like to bitch and moan and this just fuels your whining problem. I've played it before and enjoyed it but i'm still not going to take it over PDZ.

Again,it's not ok to play the crap out of a game you have fun with (which is the point of videogames from the f'ing start) on the 360 but yet it's fine to buy the Revolution to play extremely old games that you can get free on the net?

Awesome logic there.
