Leaked: Call of Duty 2 for the Mac
Some sharp eyed readers over at Mac gaming site Inside
Mac Games noticed a very interesting advert in the
latest issue of MacWorld Magazine. The advert by Aspyr, the largest Mac game porting company, features the text
"Coming Soon!" above the Call of Duty 2 logo. IMG's editor Tuncer Deniz put two and two together and stated that this "all but confirms that the first-person shooter will be coming to the Mac." Apparently we should expect an official announcement with details in the coming days. In the meantime, it looks as if Aspyr will be competing with itself for the title of "first major commercial Mac game to be playable on Intel Macs".

Mac gaming ROFLCOPTER: isn't that an oximaron?
Seriously though folks, all but confirms? This sounds pretty official to me if they put down the loot for ad space!

Haha, reading the first line of your comment I was preparing to moderate your ass!
Anyway - I'm glad that Aspyr is lining up a couple of big releases timed to coincide with the Intel Macs launch.

He said it first...
"isn't that an oximaron"
I stand by that statement... :-P

I heard a "Learn to Spell' game was coming to Windows...

You might wanna go stand by a bookshelf first, Jago.
I'm all for this, now all I need is HL2 for my mac and I'll be set.

Mac gaming will become big again in the near future. The only thing stopping it is lack of porters.
The moment the HL2 engine comes to mac along with its mods then we are set.
But if you have a quad powermac with virtual pc you are on your way! (along with being loaded with cash)

You forget that a HUGE majority of video game development is done on PCs. 3dsmax holds about 80-85% of the video game content development market. Sure Maya is also available for Macs but Mac systems still cost more then PCs.

correction WERE done on PCs, the 360, ps3, and rev all feature hardware more similar to macs than x86s arch, remember the alpha 360s were G5s
Jago @ Jan 4th 2006 10:43PM
Correction they STILL ARE done on PCs...just b/c they feature hardware somewhat similar to Macs doesn't mean that Autodesk is gonna all of a sudden come out with a version of 3dsmax for the Mac.
There are more PCs then there are Macs...and PCs can be built by anyone (even high-end systems) which is why development on Macs won't be happening for a LONG time (if ever.)

But will it still be playable on PowerPC? I mean is it going to be dual compatible like most other software coming out @ the Intel launch
