Im guessing this is maybe a trick so everyone thinks there wont be any ps3 news then they hit us with something big, i mean why else would they have the biggest booth in CeS history, to announce another Tv? I dont think so, also this is the only major event to get information out if they really still plain on a Q1 release.

*calling all Sony fanboys, come flood this comment section with "this

is BS" stuff*

seriously... I wouldn't be surprised if it

was a new TV or something... maybe even with a lightweight Cell

chip... maybe like a DLP chip but better? an improvement on the

Bravia line using Cell to manage colors even better (I hope not - I

just spent $3500 on a new bravia)? nah... must not be... because the

Cell hasn't even been made yet.

my bet is a new TV or a new camera or mp3 player or some new proprietary format from them (Memory Stick DUO Pro Advanced 2 Extreme Double Speed Limited Edition Black Color? only $150 for 128mb!!!!!!!)

First off, I have not previously heard of TG Daily before today. How can anyone take this site seriously. Sony told us back at E3 05 that "the PS3 will have a significant presence at CES 2006", that alone should comfort you. Need more? PSP was first playable to the public at CES last year, any chances it might be the same way for PS3?

I strongly feel that the PS3 will be at CES, tommorow Jan 4 would be the day because of the CES Game Power Showcase and Forum taking place tommorow. If I'm wrong, well then I guess Sony has lost it.

Hm, keynote tomorrow at 8:15-9:15 eastern. Sony's CES site is completed tomorrow, located at http://www.sony.com/ces/index.shtml I say there will be ps3 info, and it will be easily found here, 1up, ign, or your mutliple ps3 sites and forums.

If this is true I think this is a non-official delay of the PS3. They might show it in some form. Maybe in a Pre-rendered movie showing what the PS3 might look like.

But seriously who knows what they will have. I guess we will find out. After CES is this rumor is true or not.

Well, if they don't announce anything for the PS3 at CES then they'll have to find another event. E3 is in the middle of May which would be cutting it close for the repeatedly mentioned "Spring 2006" launch.

What other video game/consumer electronic events are between CES and E3?

Funny, I hope the PS3 makes it debut at CES. However, with all the news about the bugs with the PS3 who knows. Joystiq has received the info. However, they chose not to post the news. If it was X360 related they would post negative news. Waaaaaaay to go Joystiq.

More than ever, CES is increasingly important to gamers. This year, it's arguably more important than ever, because the technology that's set to be showcased there will feature strongly in PLAYSTATION 3.

"More than ever, CES is increasingly important to gamers. This year, it's arguably more important than ever, because the technology that's set to be showcased there will feature strongly in PLAYSTATION 3.

As announced at E3 last May, PS3 will make use of the new Blu-ray disc format, and exploit true high definition displays, all the way up to 1080p."

I'll be surprised if Sony does not announce anything at the CES, especially if it concerns a Spring 2006 launch. Spring is only a few months away. Why not lure away the folks who are still waiting for an Xbox 360?

If don't have a showing at CES, then it could mean two things.

1) Sony thinks that anyone who pre-ordered an Xbox 360 is a Microsoft fanboy and it would be pointless wasting any marketing money to lure them to the PS3.

2) The PS3 will launch not launch in spring 2006 and Sony does not have anything substantial to show (e.g. playable games that look good).

Oh well. We'll find out soon enough...

I got to admit would be strange tha Sony doesn't take a stab even if the stab is with a butter knife at the XBOX 360 especially since the xbox 360 is doing to well right now. I mean Kick the dog while it is down, not that I care but it is just to strange so see them not say anything. or produce anything.

Sony's big announcement will be all about Blu-Ray. It's what EVERYONE expects, and it's damn well Sony's biggest gamble in at least a decade.

But hello out there, the PS3 is Blu-Ray's prime mover. It's Sony's sucker bet on Blu-Ray succeeding.

Now how on earth can they announce Blu-Ray without mention of the PS3? Maybe we won't get an exhaustive feature list, launch titles or release dates, but you can bet the PS3 will show up... it's an imperative.

Jeeezus, you guys.... It says that sony doesn't have any plans yet. Its a sucker punch if I ever saw one.

I love my playstations, but I have a sneaking suspician that sony may ride the ps2 abit longer (especially seeing 360 is not really making up too much ground) &will delay the PS3 launch to have the machine right & ready as possible (to avoid the PS2, 360 launch debacle, between problems & shortages).

This will allow them to make the machine more cost effective & less problematic with a better launch line up. I mean I hope I'm wrong & its launches in spring worldwide, but it's wishful thinking at present

2. Why is everyone upset about it?

The PS3 won't be shown at the Home and Garden Expo either.

Video game consoles haven't been at a CES since the mid 90's. I think the Atari Jaguar was the last "new" console shown at CES. Get over it... this isn't terrible news... in fact it isn't even news worthy.

I think I'd be worried if Sony didn't announce anything new at E3 on the PS3, rather than CES. But it is a missed opportunity on Sony's part to at least have SOMETHING out there to get people excited.

Both Blu-Ray and HD DVD should make an appearance at CES tomorrow, including titles and hopefully players.

you heard it here first. a cousin of a friend of a friend of mine heard word on the street that sony is coming out with a its version of the next ipod at CES, but get this... its an ipod for books. its using that epaper stuff you heard about years back. its supposed to revolutionize the publishing industry and theyve got a few heavyweighters already behind them. now you know.

the ps3 may or may not make a show. if this article is believable, it will probably only be a few demos or something, most likely no major announcements... but who knows?

i hope the ps3 makes a show. or that we can at least get a solid release date or some word on pricing, etc...
