The 'End of the Year Wrapup' Wrapup

With 2005 now over and done with, we can relish in the thousands of year-end wrapups every news publication in the
world enjoy (we have our own
2005 game guide,
for example). Here is a brief recap of all the recaps from your favorite gaming sites - if we've missed a few (and we
probably did) be sure to let us know in the comment section below:
- 1up vs. 2005: a series of top 10 lists covering
what rocked this year, what sucked this year, their favorite stories, and even predictions for 2006. Apparently Uwe Boll
will make more bad game-to-film adaptations...really?
- GameSpot's Best and Worst of 2005 is huge, but
it's the Dubious Honors we love the most - we always wanted an award for Most Long-Winded Game Title. For better or
worse, all the winners are announced in video format.
- IGN's Best
of 2005 is done by platform only - the final winners for best overall games won't be published until January 13th. Not
game-related, but check out their music awards for some great categories (e.g., "Best Rap Album to Watch Cartoons
By").
- GameSpy's Game of the Year 2005 has a separate
category for best multiplayer games, both online and offline. Believe it or not, World of Warcraft is nowhere
to be found.
- EuroGamer's Top 50 Games of 2005
named Psychonauts as their #1 pick - woohoo!
- Metacritic listed the best and worst game for each
platform, lots of dubious honor for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
- Netjak's rick Healey listed his top 32 stories of the year, and put
Joystiq at #32 - we feel loved.
In the interest of being ironic, what was the best "Best of 2005"
list this year?
