New Sega Genesis game to be released spring 2006
A game for the Sega Genesis
16-bit console hasn't been released since 1998. Well that will change next spring when San Diego developer Super
Fighting Team releases a new RPG game for the classic console entitled Beggar
Prince. Gamer Steve writes: "You can pre-order the game for around $46 and is set to ship in Spring 2006.
It will play in any Sega Genesis, Megadrive or Nomad system regardless of region (it will work on both NTSC and PAL
systems)."With the rising cost of game development, maybe this could be a trend with classic consoles. How long has it been since the Amiga had a game published?
[Thanks, Steve]

$46? Are you kidding? The gameplay had better be hella good if you expect me to fork out that kind of money for such a primitive looking game, Mr Nostalgic Game Developer.

Not that i'd pay $46.00 for that game but it's actually cheap if it's on an eprom with a cartridge casing and a box with instructions.I see songbird are selling new Atari Jaguar games for $89.95 and they are selling out as fast as they make them.,Those Jaguar games are crap too.Soccer Kid and Total Carnage are 2 of the titles .Scatalogic released Battlesphere gold for the Jaguar and it sold for $149.00 and i saw one go for $360.00 on E-bay before christmas. So $46.00 seems not too bad.

RPG? Genesis? I knew I kept it for a reason. It's interesting. I'm sure how I feel about $46 for an out of date console. I would think somewhere around $30 would be more appropriate. Still, something this unheard of may end up a collector's item...

Well, they were spamming this on a couple message boards I frequent, and was totally alienating the audience they were trying to push this on.

Interesting idea, but it's a novelty at best, and I doubt they'll find many takers at $46. It seems like they're courting the hardcore collector market... the folks who keep a shrinkwrapped Action 52 Genesis cartidge in a lighted glass case and dust it regularly. A price point around $20 would bring in the curious gamer and make it an attractive gift item for retro-gaming fans.
