Revolution controller "inspires" 3rd party PS2 controller

CNET stumbled upon this 3rd party controller for the PS2 at CES yesterday, which is called the SplitFish GameWare DualFX. As you can see from the picture on the left, it bears a striking resemblance (at least in principle) to Nintendo's Revolution controller. The DualFX is apparently aimed towards controlling first person shooter games, with the left half controlling movement and the right half pointing the on screen gun by the way of a built-in laser.
According to CNET, the DualFX "laser system proved very inconsistent in hands-on tests". We wouldn't be surprised to find that this is a sign of bad engineering and poor integration with the software, rather than of a flawed design. We don't know about you, but we'll be holding onto our $60 while we wait for the real McCoy. And besides, gold plastic just ain't our style.

It's bull shit that this is a rip off. If anything, they take inspiration from Nintendo's controller & tweak the design some. I'm talking about the one on the right side, the one on the left is awkward looking.
I'm disabled that got worsened by pneumonia & this will allow me to play games I'd otherwise not be able to play. Currently, I cannot bring my hands together to use a standard PS2 controller. This controller will let me play my PS2 games again.
BTW, I use a track ball to control my cursor. I type via the point and click On-Screen Keyboard.
For those who cannot read the FIRST sentence, it's made by a 3rd party, NOT by Sony!

I meant the GlideFX, not the ones pictured in this article. This is what I meant:

My point still stands.

It's excellent that the idea of controlling first person shooting games in this way is compelling enough for another company to want to imitate it.
I believe that it will become as popular as a mouse for first person shooting games, if not more so, and that it will be the de facto standard in the next-next generation.

This new gadget is NOT a knock off of the future Nintendo design, you people apparently have not seen the split controller made by HORI (Japan) for the PS2? Even the Nintendo one is a copy of the HORI split controller from 2-3 years ago.

But this split design goes beyond just being a split design; it also "[points] the on screen gun by the way of a built-in laser".
