I love My C64... In fact, I still have it!! The monitor anyway... and dangit it is the most reliable monitor I've ever had! I'll be VERY SURPRISED (not to mention dissapointed) if it stops working during my lifetime. :-)

My monitor lasted for 5 years before it began to give out. Fortunately a rock carefully wedged between the chassis and one of the boards fixed the problem and gave it a few more years of life.

Are you guys having problems with allowing comments? They almost never seem to work anymore. I tried reporting this, but have received no answer.

#7- Yes I have been having probelms with the comments. It took me about three reloads before I could post this.

#3- Sorry to hear that your Monitor stopped working! THat stinks. I never want that day to come. IMO, this monitor is the closest you can get to the quality of a modern-day flat screen, without having a flat screen. (poor wording, I know, but you know what I mean)

Same here BOb. I bought a refurbished model back in the mid 80s and it still looks as clear and bright as day 1. People tell me all the time how nice and crisp it looks with an Xbox hooked up via S-video.

Hundreds of games for the C64. Too bad it's best just to play them through an emulator, even on my cell phone (*gasp*). The floppy drive is a pain to adjust after moving the unit around.

The best computer/console ever! *looks for his Centipede cart*

I found it funny how games I've been playing for a while on the C64 seemed to generally end up on the NES.

I recently reviewed Brian Bagnall's book, On the Edge, The Spectacular Rise and Fall of Commodore. Read it at
