I am really curious as to how well the ps3 will sell over here in the south pacific. any piece of electronics scraping $3000 NZ better be able to zap burglars, do my taxes, change diapers, discover the secret recipe of KFC chicken, cook KFC chicken, perform open heart surgery caused by all that KFC chicken, and then build me a gold and silver coffin out of loose change...and then bury me to avoid. Only after this will I be happy spending $3000 NZ on any type of piece of electronics.

I'm talking about the price of the systems, not the TVs. To get the full benefit of the Xbox 360 you have to spend $400+ and that is BEFORE you buy any games.



As for HDTVs, true they are slowly dropping in price (I just bought a 26" Toshiba flat tube for $550 a few weeks ago) but a normal consumer isn't gonna immediately justify spending $500+ for a TV to have prettier graphics for games. Plus HD LCD TVs push the $1000+ range for a decent one.

That maybe what they have said but we still have yet to see any footage of real gameplay on the system. Would you rather them be a little more reasonable about the capabilities of the system or overhype so much that it could never possibly meet those expectations?



Also the whole reason to play a GAME is for GAME-play. A game could have incredible graphics and play like complete shit. Would you rather play a game that is FUN to play and PRETTY to look at or PRETTY to look at and NO FUN to play?
