Remember that it says in there that these are LAUNCH GAMES, im preety sure they will keep adding more games periodically. Also, i really hope they make some classic games with online multiplayer; that would be sick, imagine playing ice hockey online :P

I'm a hardcore fanboy, but frankly... I'm a little dissapointed. A lot of really awesome games (N64 in particular) are missing. For instance...

Banjo-Kazooie/Banjo Tooie

Mario Party 1 and 2

Donkey Kong 64

Majora's Mask

Kirby 64

These are some plainly obvious omissions. I know there are some issues there with Rare, but come on! Gotta have DK64!! By the way, it wasn't a very popular game, but I'd definitely like to see NBA Hangtime on there.

Also, I think it'd be cool if they released some new games this way too. Not normal full-size games, just smaller ones. For instance, I'd like to see a downloadable version of Pac-Man Vs. that's compatible with either a GBA (via one of the GameCube ports) or a DS (wirelessly). Or if we could download free demos/trailers for Revolution games...

As for the payment options... I don't think there are enough games here to warrant a subscription. I'd want to pay per game, with five bucks as an absolute maximum (unless they were significantly enhanced). Also, I'd want to keep the games in an online account, so we could delete them and download them again later.

DON'T BITCH ABOUT THE INTERFACE -

as someone who farms out customer studies to 3rd party marketing consulting firms, I can tell you for a fact that those screens aren't anything even remotely close to what we will see in the actual system - they are merely mock-ups (by said consulting firm) used to convey the type of services and options that the Revolution VC will have.

"Donkey Kong 64"

Awesome game? AWESOME GAME?! More like awesomely terrible collect-o-fest.

And to all you people whining about how you want to download the game for free because you still own the original... here's an idea... play the original and stop whining. If you're not willing to pay a buck or something for it then obviously it's not important enough for you to play it anyway. And if you aren't a total slob your games should still be in playable condition.

This is a marketing survey by another company. In no way is Nintendo making their online service look that or even do a sub or rent system.

Odds are third party titles you would have to pay a fee for. Nintendo products would be free from the start or awarded for buying Revolution games. Also it was mentioned that certain games would be updated but you would have to pay a fee for them. Such updates could be bug fixes, some graphic updates not this gen but far less ugly then upon release. There were a number of NES titles with subpar graphics that could easily be pathced. Also the virtual console would legally let you play those games. ROMS are a copyright violation. Get caught with them and you will be in Jail or face hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines. The virtual console lets Nintendo have far more muscle with police agencies in going after ROM sellers.

Light gun games would easily work with the revolution controller or Nintendo would make an attachment.

Another possible upgrade to games would be online modes or letting you play characters not originaly in those games. Such as Wario in Dr. Mario. The patent Nintendo has for their virtual console is a far better indicator of the actual service then those screenshots. Also the virtual console would let you play games released in other countries such as Super Mario RPG or the true Super Mario Bros 2 released only in Japan.

If you already own the game why would you want to play it on the revolution? After all you would have the console to play it on right? If the console doesn't work then why wouldn't you have to pay to play the game again?

Or are you meaning a pirated copy or a ROM? Both are illegal so get rid of them.

Some of you people seem really retarded... Of course these aren't the final menu designs. I'm a Nintendo fanboy too and I hope for the best, but do you REALLY think that Nintendo's gonna go back and make all the games online? It's not that simple. They'd have to program in an online mode.

I certainly know that you can't JUST make a game online. It'd take too much time to make all these games online that you people dream about. Stop dreaming, you guys are building yourselves up for a let down. Keep thinking, "Nintendo's not going to change anything with its back catalog."

If they do something new with their back catalog, then it'll BE a surprise. But if you build yourself up and they do jacksquat with their back catalog, you're going to loathe it. For being Nintendo fans, you guys certainly don't know how to treat Nintendo news...

If they could get all those Squaresoft games, like Chrono Trigger, I bet they would stand a chance against Sony and MS even though the Revo is being released a year later, oh yeah, and the rumored $100 dollar price tag would help too.

Nintendo should make a portable system that allows you to play the games that you download from the Revolution. They should also see if they can get Sega to emulate their games on the Revolution. The console wars of old are over and I’m pretty sure Sega and Nintendo could come to some kind of agreement. This game download system should also be compatible with the next console to follow the Revolution along with Gamecube games, this way Nintendo will have a great backwards compatibility list. It’s about time Nintendo started backwards compatibility with their consoles.

Hey, everyone who bitched about the lack of GBA/GCN games?

THEY AREN'T DOWNLOADABLE. Why? The GBA isn't a home console for one, and the Revolution is BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE!

If nintendo pulls this off, this will be so sweet. This will be by far the best system out of the three and online goldeneye would be sweet but you do know theres a goldeneye source being built on the half-life 2 engine so you people should check that out. Plus nintendo needs to put perfect dark on there because the 360 version SUCKS, and I have the game.

GBA probably won't be added until the handheld has hit end of life. DS will probably never be on the Rev. Partially because it's a current system, and partially because you'd need a custom controller to do the touch-screen stuff.

The mock-up did say "launch titles". Most of them are Nintendo titles. They may not have the required licenses to release third party titles yet. I'm hoping they get it. I'd love to see a lot of other game lines show up (Final Fantasy, Conker's BFD, MegaMan, Ninja Gaiden).

A few things to clarify.

Nintendo never said the virtual console would be free. They said the wifi connection would be free, which it is, you can play 1st party Nintendo games online at no charge. But to download games from the virtual console, you're gonna need to pay a fee.

Secondly, they can update the games some, but too much updating would require higher priced games. Adding online multiplay is fairly simple. Since it's all emulated anyway, they can simply add an online multiplay option to the game, and trick it into thinking it's doing split screen local, but have the emulator look to the wifi for input instead of locally. Quick bit of misdirection there, minimal programming. But you're still limited to the multiplay attributes the original had, which means no more than 4 players.

Also, I think Goldeneye is unlikely, since I'm pretty certain Nintendo just doesn't have the rights to it. Even if they were able to make it happen, it'd be more expensive than most other titles, because they'd have to but the rights again to sell it. Especially if they made any changes to it.

The problem with a subscription service is that once you've downloaded all the games you want, there's no reason to keep the service. Upon cancellation though, the games you've downloaded and stored are deleted.

The best idea is to allow someone to either buy outright or rent. This gives customers a greater sense of choosing which items they want, without being force into having to get something because they're paying a time sensative subscription cost.

I would gladly buy all the Zelda games. Mario RPG is a big plus. Kid Icarus of course!

This is going to be great! A few things I hope for: 1) When you buy certain revolution games you get some of those star points to get a free downloadable game. 2) Some games coming free with the initial purchase of the revolution. 3) Not gonna happen, but it would be nice if you could download any game you already own. They could have some device where you could hook in a cartridge, so that it could verify you own it. Any way it goes I'm excited by this and the revolution controller itself as well. I think it is going to be FUN.

Have you seen their DS Wi-Fi interface? This is exactly what I would have expected.

implementing a 480p mode for goldeneye wouldn't be that hard for nintendo but as for online multiplayer? I would love nintendo forever if they did it but they'd have a heck of a lot of coding/testing to do so personally i can't see it.

but just maybe....

would make halo sit up an take notice ;-)

Honestly, what I would like to see is the option of not just downloading games from a service, but being able to use my physical GamePaks I have from the various systems. This would allow me to play games that might not be available for download through the service, would allow me to use the saves I have on the actual GamePak, and I wouldn't have to pay anything for the games I already own. At least the option of buying an add-on device that allows this.

Well, first of all:

#1: This is just a temporary list, and, itīs short as hell. No way that this is the final list. So, we will see lotīs of more games. Why not while their at it add Virtual Boy and Gameboy, Color since those systems are dead?

#2: The hottest thing to add to all the games is multiplayer support via the internet. Meaning, that if you choose a 2-player game, like Mario Kart 64, you should go to a lounge in which players decide which is which. That would be a true hit, I would just love playing Mart Kart 64 or DD over the internet.

#3: They should try out pathcing for some games. Meaning, like in Goldeney or Metroid Prime for the GC, they should add to it that people can co-op in it. How cool would it be playing Metroid Prime with a friend together?

#4: They shouldnīt try to enhance the old games, that they could add as "Special Features" in using like 2XSai or kreed 2xsai. They could also maybe add stereo sampling with 44KHZ soundm which would be nice.

#5: Make it optional to configure input controls, like using the "remote" to aim in Goldeneye, I think thatīs very important.

#6: Contact Sega, and also maybe other companies as well to come aboard with Nintendo. Like Atari with the Jaguar, Sega with the Dreamcast, Genesis, Saturn, Sega CD, Panasonic with the 3-DO, Neo Geo whith itīs great games, and so on and so on.

#7: Please, have lounges, Europe, America, Japan etc. Iīm hoping this thing with Mario Kart wonīt last long and they patch the game.

#8: Supply a registration form for those games, so like me and my wife can have a different account when we are playing.

#9: And, at last, have a combined HI-Score system, for the games that use points.

Some of you seem to be saying that some of the great classics are missing...

But it has also been said that some games will be available as part of other games...

Could some of the missing games such as Majoras Mask be included in the new Zelda release as a bonus from completing the game maybe?
