Jim Merrick, Nintendo
of Europe's senior marketing director, will not be joining any new Nintendo post (as previously reported).Just over a month ago, we heard from NoE officials that the Nintendo veteran was leaving his position in Europe to "continue to progress his career with the company," presumably attend to family duties, and possibly bolster Revolution launch preparations back here in the States. Now he's leaving all of that behind... well, maybe not the obligations to his immediate family, but you know what we mean.
We'll miss the Merrick-station quotes, the powerful effect on industry titans, and all the similarities (and contrasts) between him and another opinionated European console-manufacturer head. Happy trails, Jim, until we meet again.
