Sega's Ryu Ga Gotoku ("Like a
Dragon") was released a month ago in Japan and is being hailed as a gaming masterpiece. We've already seen
Sega launch a line of shot glasses and lighters to promote the title, and now a live-action prologue is being released
onto DVD in March, featuring 43 minutes of ultra-violent beatdowns and, we suppose, a touch of Kazuma's backstory. Sega
reportedly spent $20 million developing this game, which explores the Japanese underworld through a plot penned by
award-winning novelist Hase Seishu. Unfortunately, no plans to import the title to North America or Europe have been
announced.[Thanks, Timmeh]

Of course, unless you understand Japanese, the movies will probably only make limited sense. This sure would make a great fansub project for someone...
