We've known for some time that a
Splinter Cell title has been in the works for the PSP, and today Ubisoft officially unveiled the project,
which will not be a port of the upcoming Splinter Cell Double Agent. Instead, PSP owners will be treated to
Splinter Cell Essentials, developed with Sony's handheld (i.e. limited control interface) in mind.
Essentials will begin where Double Agent ends, and will also feature flashback missions, which
explore Sam's past as a Navy SEAL. In addition, specific gameplay sequences are tailored for on-the-go gaming, and
players can look forward to a slew of new weapons and gadgets. Finally, Essentials will offer WiFi enthusiasts
a spy vs. spy deathmatch multiplayer mode.[Thanks, JamesO]
