Uwe Boll listed as possible Metal Gear film director

Guess who's thumbing through the official Metal Gear Solid script? According to 1up, it is none other than Uwe Boll himself. 1up has been in contact with Mr. Boll via e-mail (remember the crazy interview from a few days back?) and has learned that Konami has sent the famed German director a copy of the script.

The (debatably) good news is that Konami is moving forward on plans to make a Metal Gear Solid movie. The bad news is that Kojima does not seem to be involved (he did not write the script and would likely not direct) and Uwe Boll may be the director. No other details are currently available. Though Mr. Boll is reading the film's script, he is set to be pretty busy with other upcoming game-to-film adaptations and probably will not have time in the next few years to commit to such a project.

WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have long been hoping that the wachowski brothers or christopher nolan would direct the MGS film. It has such great source material that any director that could bring some gravitas to the film translation would make a great movie that could rival xmen as the definitive comic/game film, but Uwe Boll!! Konami needs to have higher standards then this hack! By the way, Viggo Mortensen needs to play snake, what do you guys think?

He is worse than Paul Anderson, he is.. horrible... and who ever said house of the dead was a good movie... well im not going to be horrible, but please I implore you to reconsider your opinions.. lets just say that was a typos. I will not let this happen, he will ruin what I have been waiting for the past 6 years!!! Anyways, read my post on www.xanga.com/daveknockwin about Uwe Boll. It's quite interesting!

Recently I watched a video docu-interview of Uwe Boll. I didn't know anything about him - only what I read on the web - mainly "that he is a bad director and search another job".

Well, silly old me got of course interested and the interview was really interesting - it showed a funny, fast-talking excited guy that really really seems to enjoy making movies (BTW: he actually make a lot of money with it - not at the box office but rentals etc.etc...)

Personally Uwe Boll reminded me about Ed Wood - willing but unable... yet extremely confident in his work.

While I don't like movies like "Alone in the Dark", which would get a 4/10 IMHO, I really have to say the guy seems to be nice - and maybe in 40 years everybody will remember Plan 9 From Outer Space and Alone in the Dark as masterpieces of pop-trash.

in some sad , twisted and disturbing way...i wud actually love how ferociously boll manages to rape this film...i bet it wud be the blockbuster comedy of the eyar..hands down...

No. That movie was absolutely terrible.

It's quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen.

*sigh* we live in such dark times death, terror, disease, and uwe boll. this guy reminds me of blight from batman beyond.. not the whole badass villian thing but the concept of whatever he touches(the franchises)wither and die a crappy horrible death. or you could call him a reverse king midas.. instead of turning crap into gold he turns gold into a steaming pile of crap.

if it was done all in cgi(like ninja turtles movie) and they got the voice actors for the game, then i would go see it. but that kinda stuff only happens in every gamers dreams. oh well:(

BTW best candidate for Snake is this actor that does a soap opera called Bold & the Beautiful, I dont know his name but he is an exact replica of Snake and even has the Snake voice. Damn my girl for getting me into that shit.

Essentially, he's explointing loopholes in tax laws. He's a con-artist, not a director.

He is hurting the gaming industry by ensuring that video game movies are always going to be looked upon as a bad investment. Which means some game francises may never get their chance to be in capable hands on the silver screen.

If Uwe Boll makes this film:

Very bad things will happen to Uwe if he directs this movie. Very very bad things.
