I'd expect Nintendo moving into some alternate control scheme, or actually getting VR off the ground.

You can guarantee there will be a Madden 2010, Fifa 2006 et al. Perhaps with player movements reflected in the game and more interaction.

Oh, yeah...Wired. They're such excellent prophets of the future.

You want to enjoy Comedy GOLD? Go to your local library and read Wired's predictions for the future from 1998-2000. Bonus Points will be awarded for each article found identifying how the New Economy will replace those old-fogies, how the web will replace every aspect of your life and how corporate America has changed FOREVER.

Yeah, Wired has their finger on the pulse, all right. The band played on as the bubble collapsed.

hey look, I can bullsh!t through my teeth, I'm a journalist too.

Yes I predict the PS3 will launch in 2010 & it will be (Dr Evil Voice) one million dollars. The Nintendo will revolutionise the industry once again by releasing metroid, mario & zelda sequels & naming there latest console the circle, after MS's latest console "The Full Rotation".

Sony's machine will fail miserably again, like it has (according to fanboyism) in the past. Which shows in the sales figures, obviously. There PS3 will maybe sell a few more than there last failed effort of only just over the measly ammount of 100 million units sold to date. But that will not compare (once again, according to fanboyisms) to the sales to date of MS (20 million, if your generous) & Gamecube (a couple).

Nintendo will continue to revolutionise the handheld market by making you talk to your console & stroke it gently with your hand (which always looks cool & will pick you up chicks, whilst riding public transport).

I love the media & all there truthful stories. Look at all the truth we have got from journalism, out of the Iraq war.

WizarDru is on to something... I let my own subscription to Wired lapse because of an infuriatingly flawed article about how anime is going to take over the mainstream theatrical animation market in the US. That one article allowed me to see the whole magazine for what it is: futurist hype that can't see the forest for the trees.

But then again, maybe the picture you've chosen to accompany this article is appropriate, as 2010 wasn't a very good movie ;)

I hate to be a nitpicker but in 2010 won't we be playing Madden 2011?

Um, in 4 years, we will still be playing Xbox 360, PS3, and Revolution. 2010 isn't exactly the distant future. That and maybe STALKER will finally come out, though will look primitive by comparison to newer games.

Rocket, judging from the past two years, Infinium will not have made it even that far by 2010. We can at least hope they come up with a more visually-appealing console design by then.

Doesn't anyone have a sense of humour anymore?

"the Nintendo Apocalypse, will lack any sort of game controller whatsoever. Instead, you will direct the onscreen action by grabbing a household pet by the front legs and "making it do a little dance."

Freakin hilarious! lol!
