Free Xbox 360 face plate with Full Auto preorder
Maybe Xbox 360 face plates can serve a purpose. Sega
will be giving away a Full Auto face plate gratis for those who preorder the
game. From EB's preorder site: "Order and receive a free Full Auto Face
Plate. Bonus item will ship with purchased product, and is only available while supplies last." The game ships on Valentine's Day next
month. Just how important are interchangeable face plates, and are these types of face plate promotions more of an incentive to purchase a game?

Better than a t-shirt that you would never wear in fear of looking like a bell end.

Sweet, I would certainly welcome a Halo 3 face plate! :)

WTF, translated from dutch?

I guess we can blame the face plate thing on the IPOD? I think it's sort of goofy... I prefer t-shirts.

I'm thinking about it, the demo of that game was a blast!

I still need to play the demo. If the game is any good, I would buy it but not from the ebgames.com site. They ship to Canada now but It would cost over $20 for the shippiing and the currency conversions in the end. Not to mention the cheaper price I would get at a place like wal-mart. Deffenitly not worth it. I suppose I can check out my local EB to find out if they are doing it. Then it would only cost me an extra $2 (EB games is more expensive, thus why I never buy from them). But $2 extra would be worth it for a faceplate to me.
I think more stores should do this type of thing to get you to buy from them. I know when conker live and reloaded came out for xbox, I baught it from best buy because it came with a free stuffed conker plush toy. I sold that on ebay for $20 and saved a bundle

Indeed, a use for them yet! When i first saw the price of these things i knew they were crap, the only thing i could think of is that they'll make good special edition pre-order stuffs (like it was said Halo 3 or mebbe FFXI). Glad to see them actually do this. Sucks that it's from the web-site only though, now i can't scam one from work when they come in. :/

I heard about this offer from the schlubs at Gamecrazy about a week ago. They also mentioned that THQ's "The Oufit" is also offering a faceplate with pre-order.

Just saw this weeks Best Buy ad. They are offering a "Call of Duty" faceplate with the purchase of the game. I guess if you needed another incentive to buy this game, now you have it!

Just saw the Best Buy ad in the Sunday paper. They are giving away a "Call of Duty 2" faceplate with purchase of the game.

Demo was awful, there is no way i am going to pay $60 upfront for this. It seems like it'll be a good buy at $20 and below but no faceplate is worth $40.

I wouldn't pre-order before I saw what the end game looks like (even with a free faceplate). The OXM demo was alright.. but it needed considerable work in order to be a $60 retail game. Frame rate was terrible, the driving physics were no where near what Burnout provides and the explosions looked tacked on.
It's not all bad though, the crashes were well done, environments destructable and the reverse effect is pretty cool.

Ooo I'm buying that to put on my 360 that I recently won of sega :D

Most people pay around $60/month for cell phone service. Imagine getting a $20 peripheral for your cell phone every month just for paying your bill. You would quickly run out of interest in it, but at least after a few years you could round up all the peripherals and dump them in a hole in Alamagordo, NM.

I really don't see anything wrong with it, especially if it's a game you're already going to purchase. Then it just becomes a nice little bonus. For instance, I've been looking forward to The Outfit for a while now, and if the faceplate bonus is true, then it's just something extra to go along with a game I was going to buy anyway. I don't think I'll ever spend $20 on a faceplate, so these "bonuses" are about the only way I'll ever get one. Free faceplates aren't going to sway my purchase decisions one way or another, though.

Speaking of faceplates...Did you ever announce the 360 faceplace contest winner? Havent seen and cannot find any mention of it on the site.
An update would be appreciated.
