mmmmmmmmmm...Chik-fil-a...yummmmmm

Oh sorry...I chose all three. I'll eventually buy the 360 when it has games that are (imo) worth buying. The Revolution I'll be buying the day it launches and the PS3 hopefully around the time it launches.

Revolution at launch,

PS3 when it is affordable (for me),

Xbox 360 near the end of the cycle (unless there are a few exclusive I really want).

In between, as soon as the onslaught of great DS games slows down I probably will pick up a Xbox.

It's looking like Revolution and Xbox 360 are for me unless PS3 finally gives me some details and tells me truly its price. (I am waiting to get 360 when price drops and revolution is gonna be cheap anyway)

Hopefully Sony will be able to whip out some juicy info at E3, if not then I'll end up gettin a 360 since its looking like a pretty good console (except for the price for me) If the PS3 is even more costly then its not an option but im just waitin it out and slobbering over the pics of both the 360 and wut the PS3 is supposed to do...

is it me, or is mr. iwata's strategy working? Revolution is by far the most popular console in terms of this pole, and he said he doesn't care if ppl purchase the competition's hardware, they think that their hardware will be unique enough to capture an audience based on price and innovation. This next-gen thing is shaping up to be more and more interesting! can't wait for E3!!! 8>)

I've seen enough of the Revolution and Xbox 360 to know I want both. I'm yet to see anything for PS3 that makes me want one, and the current design for the console is so damn ugly. I'm most excited about the Revolution, but I guess I wouldn't be much of a gamer if I wasn't.

My first time posting here. Woot!

Anyway, my parents only let me get one console at a time, so I picked Revolution. This is because I started with the SNES and fell in love with it and Donkey Kong Country. I didn't get my N64 until I heard about DK64, so I got it very late in its life cycle (2000?). I only had five games for it and barely got much use out of it besides DK64. I wasn't going to get a GameCube until 2002 when my cousins took me game shopping and were looking at GameCube games for their Cube, when I found them playing my new favorite series at a demo booth, Metroid. I then got the Cube mostly for this game, but ever since E3 of this year, my new favorite series is Legend of Zelda, but I still love me some Metroid, DK, and Mario, (which I didn't start liking until Sunshine), plus all of the other Miyamoto creations. It's not the Revolution part of the Revolution that I want, it's the games, although I'm still very excited about the new controller.

Also, to contribute to the food theme at the top, think of it this way. XBox 360 is the same old chicken sandwich, PS3 is the same old chicken sandwich with everything on it, and Revolution is this new meat that tastes really good, but some people are scared to try something new.

Yeah Chik Fil-A is good

I'll probably buy all three systems when they have games I want out for them. The Xbox 360 I'll probably wait for a price drop and Halo 3 to come out, The PS3 when the next Suikoden game comes out I'd buy the system just to play it, and the Revolution once there are a few games I want to play on it.

For this Gen I bought the PS2 for Suikoden 3, I bought the Gamecube next for Skies of Arcadia, and the Xbox last for Halo and Doa3.

All good systems I work for a living so I can afford them first time ever.

Rev for sure, PS3 and 360 when the killer game comes out for them.

I know Nintendo will pump out a few games that are absolutely worth it, PS3 and 360 have me wondering. Technically they both have some very interesting capabilities, hopefully a game will use them properly.

81% Nintendo Revolution
51% Sony PlayStation 3
54% Microsoft XBox 360

Congratulations to Nintendo on creating a "must-have" console! And congrats to Microsoft for already beating out Sony.

In DAKGOALIE38's first post eva!: "Also, to contribute to the food theme at the top, think of it this way. XBox 360 is the same old chicken sandwich, PS3 is the same old chicken sandwich with everything on it, and Revolution is this new meat that tastes really good, but some people are scared to try something new."

Right, most of us are not used to eating cat, so we get nervous when it is presented before us and not fully shaven (or in other words, not sure about the Rev. yet- waiting for more info). And at this point, the PS3 appears to be the same chicken sandwich with extra trimmings, but your results may vary (look at it this way, the 360 said what it was going to be, and delivered. The PS3 has also said what it was going to be, but we're all holding our breath on it because of a history of making claims and then giving the consumer indigestion).

I voted 360 only. Sure, I have a full time salary job just as Jago (though I would rather be a spoiled 12 year old for obvious reasons), I do not have enough time to dedicate my adult life to gaming as I used to. Plus, I tend to spend my money doing other things, aside from my everyday life responsibilities. So, I will not be picking up other consoles. I'll play them, but not purchase them.

With 1681 votes, the totals have changed as follows:

Nintendo Revolution 84%
PlayStation 3 51%
Xbox 360 55%

Both Nintendo and MS have gone up overall. Impressive to see 50% plus interest in all three consoles... It will be interesting to see how this translates into reality as economic realities affect purchases. I would think prices would help Nintendo further and hurt MS and Sony.

Based on this data, the average gamer who reads Joystiq will have 1.9 next gen game systems in his or her home...

Will probably not get an x360, unless it suddenly starts having good games, but looking at the xbox's (for me) crappy lineup i doubt that.

im not surprised most joystiq readers want a revolution...but im sure the avg. madden ,GTA , halo gaming community will pass on the rev ( unfortunately) just like they did with th cube...( minus parents with small children who will buy anything by nintendo since its made out of indestructable plastic and usually pretty affordable)

the rev will be cool..just dont expect the avg gamer to pick up on it..well at least right away...

right noe id be good with just a 360..i know basically nothing of the other 2..since..there isnt much to know at this point..

I was one of the people who voted for Rev and PS3. I'll be getting a Revolution for sure, and a PS3 if I have the time and money. The only games that I would buy a 360 for are Top Spin 2 and Halo 3, but since one of my buddies is most likely getting one, I'll be completely fine.

I'm impressed by the response for the Revolution. I personally voted for the Revo and PS3 combo, and I guess a lot of people are thinking along the same lines as I am. The PS3 and X360 are going to offer many of the same types of games, whereas the Revo is something entirely different. I'm not sure how successful it's going to be, but I'm certainly interested in picking one up, and seeing how it turns out.

Just sold my 360 on ebay for $100 more than I paid for it. Will be using the money for my Rev preorder. Oh, and about 9 games. I wanted to be the first guy on my block with one when the 360 came out and now that I've played the games, I can honestly say, I'm glad I'm the first one to make some quick cash. Hoping the Rev turns out better. Pshhh to the PS3.

Judging by the ds's crazy sales around the world (especially in japan)its inexpensive price, quality games, but not flashy graphics, and the rev's similar approach I think it will do really well. I think it will be really close, and the revolution and xbox 360 will be close, but the revolution will beat it out in the end. I own a 360 and I like it alot but I just have a feeling its really not bringing alot new to the table, I dont know it will be really close. If I had to choose two it would be of the 360 and the ps3, but ill just stick with the 360 im only 15...limited budget.

I know that I'm going to NEED a Revolution unless Nintendo suddenly stop making great games. Then I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a PS3 for my Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto and most importantly Devil May Cry.

It's a shame about Rare... oh how the mighty have fallen... I don't say that just because they were sold... Star Fox Adventures wasn't up to their previous pedigree either. I'm thinking a 360 version of Blast Corps, if done well, could sell a lot of systems. Halo's the best they got? *Yawn*

Revolution is a lock for me. I'm just waiting for the game stores to start taking pre-orders. I still have mixed feelings on the controller, praying it's not PowerGlove 2.0. Overall, I think Nintendo is going to have a winner here.

PS3 is on my "probably" list. I skipped the PS2, and I kind of regret that. PS3 purchase is going to depend primarily on the price of the thing. $300 is really my limit, anything higher would need some serious justification.
