Rumor: XLink Kai founders to announce commercial online service for the PSP

Xbox-Scene isn't the most obvious source for PSP news, but the site is reporting that some of the XLink Kai founders—possibly former employees—are preparing to announce a commercial online service for the PSP. Since it's still in the "rumor stage," it's unclear if the service will utilize tunneling software or be completely unified (like Xbox Live). And will Sony endorse it? Not likely. What about game developers? And why is this a commercial service? XLink Kai has always been a free endeavor and it already features PSP support.

Obviously, there are many unanswered questions. And with Xbox-Scene suggesting a Q2 (2006) launch for the service, let's hope that "announcement" is on its way.
