Microsoft & 4Kids alliance could usher in downloadable episodic content for the Xbox 360

Microsoft and 4Kids Entertainment Inc. have formed an alliance in which 4Kids will act as the licensing agent for a forthcoming entertainment property geared towards children. 4Kids is behind the success of franchises like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh!, and as such, is the perfect choice to ~~target what kids really want~~ tell kids what to really want.

There's no doubt that Microsoft intends to explore the interactive methods of pushing this entertainment property, which suggests that the Xbox 360 and the Xbox Live service could be used to introduce episodic game/video/music content to consumption-crazed children. Sorry parents, all you have to look forward to is paying off the monthly microtransaction fees.

No, but seriously, this is pretty brilliant except the 360 isn't being marketed strongly to the youngsters. Funny that Microsoft with the hardcore image is jumping on this. Doesn't Ninty usually hang with the kids? Who's got the kiddie image now?

Joking aside, I wouldn't be surprised if this really is for Windows Media Center and Vista, with 360 for the streaming capabilities.
