The
Escapist is focusing on addictions once more
this week, but certain cheap-@ss gamers will simply be interested in the
nice profile of David Abrams (aka CheapyD to true CAG believers)."Comrades in Cheap" looks at the history and philosophy behind the vaunted video-game deals site, where hoarding and reselling for profit is generally looked down upon and "considered bad form." Eschewing the profit motive, CAG is said to place a higher priority on community and the enjoyment of more good games (at a lower price, of course).
While a certain three-letter A-word can be found in plentiful supply on both CAG and the article mentioned, the CAG forums (free registration required) make it a point to automatically censor any mention of the F-word, replacing it with a comical (and colorful) representation of the word "Shaq-fu!" At any rate, CAG veterans may not learn much new from the story, but it's nice for the site to get even more recognition in the online gaming world. Some things will never change, but we're sure glad that the price of a game isn't one of 'em (most of the time).
