swweeeet. as a sonic fan myself, i like the fact that they're actaully going to bring it to revoultion . i liked the 3-d games because they had interesting storylines, but i love the 2-d side scrollers. it'll be a miracle if they bring that back! especially on the new Nintendo Revolution!

This is very cool news. Though it hasn't officially been confirmed yet by Sega, I think it's pretty safe to take it as the truth. Welcome to Revolution, Sonic the Hedgehog.

Yeah, lets hope 'top tier' means better 3D the stuff they've been putting out, I've played Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes (Jumped the shark on shadow the hedgehog) um, yeah, they don't come close to the original 2D games in terms of overall experience, not that they're supposed to be a carbon-copy, but there's no sense of speed (Play G-force or F-Zero for that effect) repetitive gameplay, too many annoying characters, etc.

Sonic DS was a step in the right direction, lets hope they get back to basics.

Not surprising, as Yuji Naka loves Nintendo. But the Sonic series has been steadily going downhill since the first Sonic Adventure. Sega has watered down the franchise so much over the last few years with bad games and bad direction (and they're still doing it) that I have little faith this Revolution-exclusive game will prove to be very good. What was the last platformer Naka had direct involvement in? Billy Hatcher? Wretched.

He's on the DS, GBA, and GameCube... why is this surprising?

RTFA :-/

"While it's easy to shrug this news off as a no-brainer, it is nevertheless an important development because it suggests that powerhouse publishers are thinking about ways to make innovative games on Nintendo's upcoming platform rather than just porting over dumbed down versions of their Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 projects."

Unique is spelled incorrectly.

In 2D it's incredible, but Sonic in 3D has always been lame. Turn off the gay Jpop, remove the appeal to furry fetishists, get normal people to do the voice acting, and I'll play.

I really hope they do a Sonicized version of Kirbys Canvas Curse, but in 3D somehow.

I'm glad the Revolution games will all be unique for the most part. The end of crap ports! Developers are finally set free to do something new.

I'm making my own console at home... Sega is going to support it.

Come on how is this news? A Sonic game is on almost every system out right now... I think the only exception is the PSP?

I mean a Sonic game was on the NGage honestly.

^^^ It's news because the Sonic game slated for PS3 and Xbox360 will be one in the same. The Sonic game for Revolution will be completely different to take advantage of the controller.

Sounds like Nintendo was right . . . new ways to play means challenges for developers to do something creative again; not just the plain old "we'll make a game with better graphics."
