EA drops current-gen prices
During the transition
period between current- and next-gen consoles, EA, the world's largest game publisher, has cut prices on several PS2,
GameCube, and Xbox titles. New prices for several games range from $20-$40 compared to the usual $50. From the article: "Madden NFL 06, NBA Live 06, FIFA 06, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire all seem to have benefited from the price drop, as their Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, and PC versions are all now available for $29.99. Other games affected by the price slashing include Need for Speed Most Wanted (now $39.99) and Medal of Honor: European Assault (now $19.99)."
Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, and the Sony PSP game prices will go unchanged.

I can't help but think this only burns some people, while moving product before the new gens come out doesn't the entise people to not touch 360 console and items just cause of price. EA has already been seen as pro sony I am just wondering if that factored into this price drop, just a thought don't know it is it valid or not.

How are they pro-Sony when they make games for all platforms?

They have never been pro sony. But they did wait to see if xbox1 got a decent installed base before they committed to making games for them. They were also hesitant with live for xbox, but that doesn't matter now, as they seem hesitant to make any games online for consoles unless they think they will sell well.
The only favouratism EA has is for the company that has the biggest installed base & can make them the most money.

EA ought to lower the price of Madden 06 for Xbox 360. That version supposedly is inferior feature wise to the Xbox and PS/2 editions.

Plus I don't think most people would call it a "next-gen" jump either...

Cut prices to $5-10 and that would stop piracy.
