Sonic racing to Revolution?

Gameshout is carrying word that our old friend Sonic may very well be headed to Nintendo's next-gen machine. What makes this bit of info and rumor all the more interesting is that this new Sonic may be different than the other new Sonics (you know, the ones that have already been announced as in development for the Xbox 360 and PS3).

Could this be the start of developers taking true advantage of the Revolution's unique control capabilites? We'll keep our fingers crossed that Sonic Revolution will be more than just a port.

I am sure it's been mentioned before somewhere, by someone, somehow...but I for one would being in line doing backflips if they put Sonic in the new Smash Brothers. Imagine a scrolling battle field set to one of the levels of a Sonic game.

Instead of creating a Sonic just for the Rev, it would make sense to do a port that went to all 3 next-gen systems (ofcourse, with revmote functionallity on the Rev) and then focus special attention to intergrating Sonic characters and whatnot into what could be one of the highest selling titles of all time.

There has always been the question of "Who would win in a fight?", from different games and consoles...SSMB answered the challenge for Nintendo games, and adding Sonic would take it into the realm of crossing consoles. It may not be as exciting to anyone else as it is me, but if nothing more, it's just more reason to greatly anticipate the Revolution.
