so I heard that alpha 3 in alpha antology is only gonna have 25 characters. The old alpha 3 is suppose to have over 30 characters and now alpha 3 max has about 37. Does that mean we're not gonna get the whole deal. If they cut off some characters than I'll probably be having second thoughts about getting this game

It would be cool if it came to xbox and it would be great if Marvel vs. Capcom 2 went to the xbox live arcade on the 360 with online play

I agree...bring it to the live! arcade. It'll be cheap, and VERY successful.

yay... so once again they release the same games for the 999th time... Capcom will never learn... or maybe the people that buy Capcom's regurgitated licenses will never learn...

Either way... Street Fighter 4... What's that?

I agree. Marvel vs Capcom 2 for xbox live/arcade play would be freakin' phenomenal. So many quarters, so many lives.

I wouldn't even think twice about downloading this.

SWEET! though i still have my ps1 Alpha 1-3 discs & getting Alpha 3 again for PSP. still its awesome that Ill finally be able not to pay Collectors Price for Pocket Fighter. Now if only they would do a Street Fighter VS Collection or Capcom VS Collection. that would rock

Alpha's overrated. Nothing is better than the original SF2.

Except maybe the Commodore64 games "Way of the Exploding Fist" and "Bruce Lee."

You can count on one hand the number of ports of SFA3, all of which are several years old (save for the about to be released Double Upper / MAX for the PSP). For me this is a godsend, as I'm becoming increasingly paranoid about playing (and possibly ruining) my DC Zero 3 as time wears on.

Don't expect Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 at any point, or you'll be disappointed. Capcom lost the license to Marvel games long ago, so they aren't allowed to make new games or new versions of old games with new features. MvC2 online will never see the light of day, unless something very unexpected happens. They can only release MvC2 as is, which explains why the XBox version had no Live compatibility.

MvC3 would be heaven. Especially if they put all the characters in there. Even if it were to be crappy 2D and Morrigan (as usual) would still be that crappier 2D.

jchensor's got a point about the Marvel license, but definitely count me in on wanting more 2D fighters on Live Arcade (as the arcades basically were 2D fighters at some point in the '90s). I have my copy of Alpha 3 for the PSone, but I've always wanted to try Pocket Fighter. This is a good _first_ step for Capcom, however, as it continues to jump on the retro bandwagon.

I agree Live Arcade would be sweet, but this should be a nice collecton if priced low enough. I think Alpha 2 is the best of the series, lots of memories of that on the PS1.

a) Alpha is the best. I grew up on SF2, but Alpha received more play than any other SF.

b) pocket fighter can be found on eBay for $25. Unless you'd like to buy my copy for $100. :-)
