HIGHLY doubtful...why?

A certain company working with Nintendo doesn't even have a Revo kit yet.

Hmmmm, I'm not really a Photoshop pro or anything, but I can say Photoshop when I see it. The effects behind it are very clearly simple Photoshop techniques, and it is rather obvious. We will see though.

I hang around a lot at the Revvy Report.com forums, I honestly dont think this is real, but I dont want to discredit Zeromaru either.

I honestly think its fake though, as its been fought at the forums here
http://boards.revolutionreport.net/index.php?showtopic=4317&st=0
You need to register to read the whole thread though.

Besides, it reads "Calender", and "Rev Alpha".
He mispelled "disc" as well.

Here is another image that is a lot more interesting. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y149/nziscariot/revophoto_joe_sm.jpg
After seeing this image, I am more inclined to believe this is real but I still belive its not so real. (I found this after typing the above, but before posting the message.)

Take this with a bunch of salt, as they say

Yes, it looks identical to the DS interface... I think thats way to plain for a home console. If this is real, then these aren't the final screens, otherwise... fake.

In the future remember, when you take a picture of a TV set (normal NTSC SD), set your camera to 1/30s exposure, please!

Nope. Nintendo wouldn't put an outer glow around the text at the bottom. no good designer would (and looking at the Revolution, Nintendo ARE good designers. fitting all that power into the Cube and the Revolution? getting 10 hours battery life with 2 screens and wifi on a DS etc.)

My dad's friend works at a company in Boston, who is making the chip for the controller's motion sensor (still making), so no way that person has an alpha kit.

I don't usually say fake right away, but on other forums we have been talking about it and the one thing that really makes it look fake is the scan lines don't match up with the position of the tv. Instead of horizontal they are all weird-like.

If anyone has an explanation for why this is, good stuff. Also the spelling mistakes are rather funny.

It could be an American Dev. team so that explains the english, also US gets the Rev first this time. but the thing is why is there a picture of "Joe" and the tv.

I think that picture that Nushio posted proves its a fake because that would make it easier for lega action to be taken against the propper employee.

Quite fake....honestly, It's not even that great. It's DAMN easy to take a picture and map it onto a blank tv screen (especially if it's just displaying a blue screen)..it's even easy to track motion in a case like that...the guy should've made a video...at least that would've been interesting

FAKE!

The last thing this mother's sister's son can do is take picture of the DS menu and alter it.

Of all the fake rev menu, this is the ugliest.

READ THIS. AFTER THIS POST, PLEASE NO 'OMGFAKE' POSTS.

Wanna know why this is fake? See the font used in the text "There is no game disk inserted?" That is an unofficial freeware font found on free font sites everywhere.

And like Jay said, know one in their right mind would use a glow effect on a font in anything commercial.

And see the scan lines? They are not proportional with the screen. There was another version of this image and the scan lines were perfectly horizontal. The creator evidently tried to fix it but didn't do a good job, they looked better before.

And there isn't a gradient in the top bar thing. Why would they leave that out?

Why do people even bother with these?

why are these "leaked" screens even posted? have you seen one that looks good yet? no, thats how you know they're fake. these look so terrible that if any of them were the actual rev screen, it would prevent me from buying one.

give a drunk monkey a crayon and he could come up with better load screens. jebus.

any idiot can download roms and an emulator. i fail to see whats so great the Rev's far reaching backwards compatability. my xbox can already play everything from NES to N64. Woo.

Oh yeah, and the dash is missing in Wi-Fi, Nintendo never leaves it without one. And for that matter, it would say something more like "Connect to Nintendo WFC." Or for that matter, why would a Nintendo WFC be there at all if Virtual Console is right below it? Like the DS, I am sure they wont have some sort of lounge to check gamer stats and whatnot like Xbox Live. They will leave it to the developers, unless they make a whole new Nintendo WFC separate from the DS's.

heh... fuckin stoners. did nobody notice that the date says "4/20"? i think that makes it much less believable, personally... the whole "420" thing is such a joke...

i dunno, though. as someone who appreciates the sweet mary jane, i could potentially see myself setting the clock to 4/20 just for the picture as a joke... so who knows.

i almost want to explain "420" for people who "don't get it" but i figure, if you have to ask, you'll never know :P

Gman, and that would be the dumbest way of going about it too.

easiest way - use your tv output on a pc with the image displayed in an fullscreen viewer, hell, display a movie of it and record it.

far and away easier than sticking dots on a screen and tracking it, putting the track data through a 3d app to get the curveture of the screen, then render that and composite back over the original...not to mention matting out the hand.

and the moire pattern? please, enlighten us how to do that in photoshop or compositing package of choice.

sorry for the rant, but there is quite the misconception that post effects work is very easy to do :)

well theres NO WAY thats real, cos i work for a top developer and we've had devkits for just over 4 months now. we're working on a hyper realistic WHACK A MOLE game, with gore. JUST to prove i'm speaking the truth heres a quick snapshot of the real revolution frontend.

The original post by the guy who put it up acknowledges spelling mistakes and whatnot. I dabble in photoshop everynow and then and this isn't an image masked on a tv. Perhaps someone has a tvout on their videocard and just transfered teh image to the television but even if it's a fan mock up, it's definitely the most believable one out there. The setup isn't flashy but it does follow suit with the ds setup, they look very similar and it also looks pretty simple and easy to navigate. Mistranslation aside, it's a pretty good mock-up if it is indeed a mock-up. Also, you should note that joystiq keynoted the image, it was shown at a side angle in the original photo cap.

Lardonithan, that picture is even more fake looking than the original poster's. And if it's sarcasm, well... I just don't get it.

I guess we'll just have to wait until the revolution is released. Personally I think it looks believable although the spelling errors mess my opinion up. Besides, why wouldn't any good designer use an outer glow? What's wrong with that?

When have any of you ever seen something "leaked" that actually turned out to be true? Me neither. So just stop thinking it could be. Look how far off EVERYONE was with the controller.

Haven't optical media traditionally been referred to as "discs", and magnetic media as "disks"? There's another sign of fakery.

Mmm, honestly, if this could be it, I'd like more detail in it...
Just plain copying and adjusting the DS layout... I don't like that very much, you're working on a far more powerful machine. So it should be in the layout too, it should look better styled, detailed and maybe with a little movement...

You know what I mean.
