Peter Hines' latest Oblivion update
may read more like a sales pitch than a developer diary, but he certainly makes a case for plopping down the extra $10
for the Collector's Edition of the game. Sure, the standard edition contains the essentials, namely the game (on one DVD), a massive
48-page game manual, and a folding map of the world, but has The Elder Scrolls ever been about the
essentials? For an additional $10, the Collector's Edition features "the coolest packaging [Bethesda has] ever done." Inside, fans will be treated to a behind-the-scenes documentary by thinkfilm, a replica Septim coin (currency used in the game), and a 112-page pocket guide of Tamriel. If you're planning to fade into Oblivion, then the pocket guide alone is worth the extra dough.
