The guy should feel bad...these GTA: SA Urban-themed "me too" titles are complete crap.

...and why 50 Cent: Bulletproof sold a million copies is beyond me. It goes to show that people will buy whatever some no talent "musician" tells them to buy.

ALl these game do is seek to further exploit a demographic that has shwn they will buy anything with a "gangsta theme". The demographic in question has also demonstrated a willingness to ignore reason or common sense when making purchases, I work in a game store and have tried to talk people out of such games and they respond with indignation. These customers are beyond help Then they want to know why they have to trade it in and not return it for a full refund. If this wasn't true about thier intelligence then we wouldnt be seeing crap like 50 cent being put out for psp. Despite HORRIBLE REVIEWS they are confident they will sell another millino because these "urban youth" wannabees are lining up to throw away thier money in order to feel they are part of a sub-culture of hoods and ignorant thug criminals. If Mr. Cent was to make a strawberry jam I assure you a bunch of morons with baggy pants and dew rags would be in my store asking for it even if it tasted like crap.

Why would your video game store sell strawberry jam?

Because they're thinking ahead, they're a progressive gamestore.
If they started selling videogames, AND health food, then you don't get any more Jared's claiming Video games caused their weight problems.
The healthy food is right there next to the games, if you'd rather buy a crap 50 cent game than some healthy game-themed granola, then it's your own damn fault.

Now that's a progressive game store.

hey Harley Stone, before you start generalizing the "urban youth" as morons you should perhaps realize that we aren't all so naive with our purchases. I know a lot of "thugs" or guys who wear du-rags (check the spelling bro) and baggy pants who could give a damn what any rap star or other celebrity endorses as "cool." Truth is, 50 cent doesnt make his money off of our demographic, he makes his money off of ignorant suburban kids who think he's "real." Seriously, not a single person in my whole crew of friends even likes 50 cent, and as far as his game, its laughable garbage...maybe a few "hoods" came into your store and wanted that trash but truthfully, dont think that our (or my) demographic is so easily swayed by that bullshit. Not every kid with "street" clothes, or who comes from a hard urban area is like-minded...so please keep the generalizations to a mininmum man...and yeah, maybe I'm taking your post too seriously (my B) or maybe I should just drop it but I felt it needed to be said...

oh yeah...for the record...50 cent can suck a long fat somethin', me and a lot of other african americans are sick of dealing with the stereotypes he promotes every day. Word.

I love 50 cent, his game maybe crap but he rox.

Who cares what african americans from teh hood say. I love 50 because he tells everyone to fuck off, gotto love that. I love artists who tells everyone that they rule and they get all the women and that their better than everyone. Sure beats the whiny bitchy rockers who bitch about life and everything. When i listen to 50 i feel good. I dont give a shit if hes real or not hes positive and thats all that matters to me. Word.

"Seriously, not a single person in my whole crew of friends even likes 50 cent"

So b/c you and your friends don't like 50 Cent, that means ALL urban youths don't like him? Sorry but that is a load of crap.

That's like saying "goths don't buy Marilyn Manson's CDs...only old hippies buy them."

"I love artists who tells everyone that they rule and they get all the women and that their better than everyone."

So you like loudmouth arrogant assholes who don't have respect for women or anyone around him? Yea that sounds real positive to me.

Mozart rocks! Where's that GTA-style game based in 17th-century Vienna?

I have an idea: How about a GTA-style game based on a Shakespeare play?

hey listen...when i said no one in my crew even likes 50 cent I was definitely not saying that we represent our whole demographic...I was saying that NO small sample of our demographic could be used to judge us all, thats why I said keep the generalizations to a minimum...and hey, go ahead and enjoy 50 cents music, thats up to you and I cant knock you for it, however it does get very tiring dealing with steroetypes that are promoted by a lot (but not necessarily all) of his (and others) material...and as far as artists who dont give a fuck about anyone I kind of agree, I just prefer it when its done with a little more intelligence...like perhaps a little Talib Kweli, or Mos Def, fuck it even Jay-z...but then again I dont mind hearing some MOP or Beanie Sigel when he gets on his harder stuff...look, its just music, but when you have so many people listening to hip hop a lot of people/consumers aren't smart enough to realize that these emcees dont speak for EVERYONE, they each speak a point of view that SOME agree with and/or relate to themselves and some dont...it just annoys me when people try to connect something very general with something very specific or vice versa...especially when people like myself get associated with those generalizations/specifications...oh and as far as "who cares what african americans from the hood think?"...um, hey buddy, that music and culture you're enjoying was created by them so have a little respect, some people ARE concerned that an entire culture is being sold out to people who dont care...and for the record (again), I moved the hell out of the "hood" to pursue my own education and only go back to see my friends who are still there, meeting other people from other areas has definitely widened my perspective (and crew), and I would reccomend widening your perspective to anyone who disagrees with this post before you try and shoot me down for what I have to say...thanx for your time kemosabes...

Wow...if only more people would respond like that then we wouldn't have responses from people that made no sense when their views were challenged (i.e. Kizza.)

another example of joystiq not checking there facts. 25 to Life has been blowing off the shelves and there are over 10 thousand registered people playing their online. what no reviewer cares to mention is that the title has a solid online including customizable characters which people have been clamoring for, but they are quick to jump all over "urban" and use the word "clone" when this title has some of the most original features of all of them. would be nice if the overwhelmingly white reviewers paid attention to what the mass market consumer liked because all of you "hardcore gamers" are missing the point.

Nope...sorry...regardless of what online features this game has, it still shows no signs of any real creativity.

This whole "urban fad" in gaming is truely pathetic and proof will be that no one will care about this game in a few months (hopefully sooner.)
