Full Auto demo explodes onto XBLM

As expected, the demo for Sega's ballet of guns and cars (what else) is up on the Xbox Live Marketplace for your enjoyment. Weighing in at roughly 650MB, it'll take awhile to download.
To all the snickering OXM readers out there who've been happily playing the demo for weeks now, just let us losers have our fun! You can download the Marble Blast demo.
[Thanks to everyone that tipped us off]

Graphics are fairly nice. The destruction is very nice. And there's rarely a slowdown in frame rate (when compared to all the early video seen of the game). But it just doesn't seam like it's going to be all that fun of a game when compared to Burnout Revenge, which is it's main competition at this time.

no guns in burnout

Yeah it's a blast for about 5 minutes, but doesn't come close to the polish and long-term fun of Burnout.
Also, not to complain, but it's basically current-gen graphics at a higher resolution. A bit more physics, a bit more particles, but nothing impressive.

Um...yeah. Not impressed at all. The cars slide around like you're on ice. Yeah, there are a lot of objects on screen, but they're all pretty blah. Definitely NOT wasting 60 bucks on this one. I'm waiting for Fight Night 3 and Oblivion.

Thank god for the free demo -- I've been into armed vehicle games since Car Wars, but this certainly isn't one of the best.
Try before you buy!

It seems to do that same thing that 'Need For Speed: Most Wanted' did... A slight stutter/hiccup every 10-15 seconds. Speculating this is maybe a result of loading the next mile or so of track? I don't know, it's just a little strange. Maybe it's just the demo.
Otherwise, the game is fast, and it's interesting. In fact, it may be a little to fast to allow for weapon use - you are basically firing down a long corridor at your opponent. No lateral/sideways combat as far as I can tell. Lots of 'jump' opportunities. Interesting new 'rewind/undo' feature that goes in the ol' "They're making video games easier" file along with 'recharging health in Halo and Call of Duty2,' but that's another post.
But of course, it's a free download, so you should download it and try it if you can - unlike the 1 gig EA demos it downloads fairly quickly at 650 megs.
My thoughts: Hard to mess with Mariocart for playability.

I love that you can download demos like this on XBOX live!. You can make a decision to buy a game before it even comes out in most cases. Although this demo didn't quite sell me on the game like the demos for Fight Night 3, Conemned, and Need For Speed MW did, it's still cool that I can check the game out for free like that.
I agree though, this title just clearly looks like sega didn't put nearly as much time and effort into as the burnout series. It's a fun fast paced game, but I'd throw this one in the rental category.

Strange, I had no issues of a drop in framerate with this game, or NFSMW. The demo of NFSMW was actually so fun that I went out and bought the game.

So it sucks? That is NOT what I wanted to heear about the game I was looking forward to most this quarter.
More opinions please!

I agree. It Sucks. Major frame-rate issues and boring / unbelievable driving dynamics. The cars dont feel as if they are on actual ground. I know its not a sim but they could have done more. It feels rushed. Graphics are OK but I expect graphics along the lines of PGR3 on the Xbox360. I wont be buying this one.

I enjoyed the demo, but in reality, it saved me 60 bucks. It has all the right concepts, but it just doesn't seem to work.
BigD @ Jan 26th 2006 5:21PM
This is something that you would see in the current-gen arena of games. The background builds up while driving (a la Sega Saturn). Not even my High-Def TV could save this one. Thank God for Xbox Live. It would've been a real shame to put in 60 bucks for this game. I know a lot of my friends were looking forwad to this one, but it's not that good! PGR3 and Most Wanted are much better titles.

FormFactor, yes its awesome, for like 1 race, then,,, its terrible for a next-gen.
I've had it available since the OXM came out, my friend let me have his demo disc, and the only time I've had my 360 crash was while running this tech-demo, oh I mean game. I downloaded the demo from live last night, and now it crashes before I finish one race... On the OXM disc I could get a few retry's, anyway, is not that much, when I play Burnout Legends on psp during the day while I'm away from 360.
