Festivus is over and Sony is still celebrating. For the quarter ending on December 31st, the PSP posted some
impressive stats. 6.2 million PSPs were shipped from October 1 to December 31, 2005, bringing the global total up to 15.0 million PSPs served.
14.5 million pieces of software were also shipped during that same period, bringing global software shipments up to 34.1 million in total. That's a whole lot of UMDs.
The global "tie ratio" (the number of games sold with a new PSP unit) increased as well, makin a jump from 2.22 in September 2005 to 2.27 as of Dec. 31, 2005.
Sony held steady with its previous forecasts that they will have shipped 14 millon PSPs during the 12 months that end in March 2006.
