MGS4: Solid Snake's "sixth and final chapter"

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence will make its way to Western shores soon, so is there anything else we should expect besides the limited status of the set's third disc of cinematics (labelled "Existence")? Well, it seems, plenty.

Those who pre-order the game in mid-February will also receive a documentary DVD called Metal Gear Saga Vol. 1 which will include a 30-minute overview of the Metal Gear storyline from the 5 canonical releases so far, interviews with Hideo Kojima on practically everything, and the revelation that MGS4 is "the sixth and final chapter in the story of Solid Snake." Shocking, we know...

For Metal Gear maniacs, it will be very difficult to resist that Shinkawa-drawn foil-embossed cover (of the bonus DVD case), so if you're interested in this, be ready to pre-order the set when the opportunity arises. (Let it be cheap... oh, let it be cheap!)

This is not good news for me, because I just got into the MGS series. I saw TTS for GC and I picked it up. It is now my favorite game of all time. I'll probably pick up a PS2 to play 2 and 3, but I wish Kojima would continue the series. Look at Final Fantasy. It has 12 games. Why not make more MGS games?

This doesn't mean that it will be the last Metal Gear Solid game. They could kill Snake or have some huge plot twist, but continue the games with another character.

I find it hard to believe that Konami are only going to release one game of their biggest franchise on next gen systems.

Exactly, and this is "Solid Snake's last game" not the last game in the Metal Gear franchise. Kojima has said already everyone will have a different opinion of Raiden after this game (I never hated him that much) so the logical conclusion is...

More MGS, less Snake. Although I bet Snake lives on in games like the Ac!d series.

I pre-ordered it in January last week ;/. I'm guessing I'll still get the bonus DVD, but can anyone confirm?

I hope Kojima-san will make this the most innovative MG with the new features. But I certainly hope snake does not die cause he is will always be the best there ever is and the best there ever will be, raiden does not even come close to snake, even if looks like Grey Fox, snake could still kick his ass even if he is old and why call him "old snake" it should stay as Solid Snake, and last liquid ocelot is going to get his ass kicked...
