If you're a full-time student
interested in attending the Game Developer's Conference March 20-24 in San Jose, California, you've got just a couple of
days to put together your application. IGDA is awarding 25 scholarships that include a pass to GDC, access to all
sessions, roundtables, and keynotes, plus breakfast and lunch. Scholarship winners will also receive an
"exclusive" tour of EA's Redwood Shores studio campus. You'll still have to cover hotel and travel, but
c'mon, do you want to make games or not? Go for it!
If you're a student and are at all interested in a career in games, don't hesitate to give this a shot. The conference is an excellent learning and networking opportunity and loads of fun to boot. Last year, conference highlights included a demo of Spore by Will Wright plus all sorts of other educational presentations. The only downside to this scholarship program is that you'll need to join the IGDA as a student member ($30 per year) to be eligible for consideration.
Just remember to grant us Joystiqers an interview if you go on to make it big in games, because, like, we totally made you.
