New Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess footage
Hyrule.net is featuring some juicy new
Twilight Princess video action, and it's not just a series of rehashed scenes from the demo. The short clip
includes a "Wolf Link" fight, horseback battle, underwater exploration, animal care, and some lantern-lit
adventuring. You'll have to become a registered member (it's free) to view the high-res version, but anyone can view
the low-res stream, which, we might add, will still induce drooling. Go get your fix![Thanks, clifford]

I want to play the game already. Although it was nice to see new content mixed with the old.

I had seen this footage ages ago on television, I believe. Nice that someone has taken time to upload it to the net.

Meh... looks like more of the same. The speed run is even more disappointing. I like to think that Nintendo is all about innovation, but the gameplay is identical to every home console Zelda game since Ocarina of Time. You could probably say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," but I can't be alone in feeling a bit underwhelmed at the prospect of platforming through a dungeon (that seems eerily familiar) in order to reach a giant chest, walking up to it, watching an awkward open-and-retrieve animation for the umpteenth time, while hearing the trademark discovery sound, only to get a boomerang, or bow, or hookshot, or any other item we've been seeing for the last 20 years. Don't get me wrong, I've already pre-ordered the thing, but I think it's time that ninty broke the mold.

Um, you can employ animals to help Link in his adventures. You turn into a wolf to enter the mysterious Twlight world. There's more dungeons and more "new" items... seems pretty inventive to me.

Fawar, Nintendo cant win for losing. Nintendo was rewarded with complaints and gripes about the innovative nature of Majoras Mask. The "real time" aspect and the body morphing mask feature was miles away from standard Zelda, while keeping the soul of the Zelda games. People also bashed Windwaker at first for the cell shaded animation. Nintendo often innovates, but you cant please all of the people all of the time.
The only thing I'd agree that needs changing in Zelda is the text. Text based dialog (for those with hearing) is so 1989. If Mario and Peach get voices for crists sake, the much more story driven Zelda should get the same treatment.

WOw, No matter how much zeld footage I watch It just doesn't impresses me, there are wayyyy better games out there than zelda, guess thats the problem.
branewalker @ Feb 2nd 2006 7:44AM
I loved Majora's Mask and Windwaker. However, the reason they were not as fun as the other games...well, two things.
Not enough dungeons in which to USE the innovative abilities. 4 or 5 dungeons, to me, is half a Zelda game. If that. Look at the games that were most popular: Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past. 9 and 12 dungeons respectively. And the least popular games: WW and MM , with 5 and 4, respectively.
Also:
Tingle is a moronic imbecile that destroys the Zelda experience. So help me, I will return TP to the store and tell them it's defective if it contains Tingle. Wouldn't you?
