This list shouldn't really be compared to the list of Xbox 360 titles that are
to be released in 2006 because the PlayStation 3 isn't out yet and because we still don't know a whole lot
about the system or the games that are scheduled for it. That said, read on for the list of 45 titles that are expected
to be released for the PS3 this year.
(For those who are wondering: the Nintendo Revolution list is just 8 titles long right now. Nintendo is being
characteristically tight-lipped about their plans for the Revolution.)

You forgot to put up "Lair" (developed by Factor 5) on that list.

Wait until E3 then you will see how many games are coming out for the PS3 and the X-Box 360. Plus even still the PS3 will have more the next year since this is going to be there first year. I think X-Box will have some cooler games out this year but next year when they get cool games like MG4, DMC4, and GT5...Maybe even a new Square-Enix game hopefully.
jmm36 @ Feb 12th 2006 12:15AM
I have to agree. "Exploding Gas Station" is the only title that looks very interesting on there. Everything else is a sequel, and just a basic upgrade to a PS2 game. WHY?!
Bring on the Nintendo Revolution--lower price, better gameplay, and it won't break it one to two weeks like every Sony product I have ever owned: Vaio, Clie, two PS2's. Okay, so my PSP isn't broken, but I haven't played it for more than five hours since buying it two months ago (about one recharge.) The only game I can play for more than five minutes is Lumines, and I have Metal Gear Acid, Wipeout Pure, and a few others that greatly disappointed me. Good thing it came with a dust cover!
Yeah, I'm bitter.
sharingan @ Mar 1st 2006 8:00PM
use this to get a free ds for keeping it or u can sell it
bd @ Feb 3rd 2006 8:51PM
I really can't wait to see "Game Title" made by "developer". lol
Jay @ Feb 3rd 2006 8:55PM
I hope one of the above mentioned games will be good. that was a sort of thing about the PS2, at least for me. I love Japanese games but the PS2 (in europe anyways) was just dwindling on good games. Simpsons Skateboarding? the million+1 other crap games that game shops stocked? nah.
And how much will these be? hell if I'm paying 50 for Gradius 3.
if the price is right I'll get a PS3 and a few of the above games. but I'll probably run back to Samus and wave my arm around in Prime 3.
Tegfury @ Feb 3rd 2006 9:13PM
What about Metal Gear Solid 4?
Whuh? @ Feb 3rd 2006 9:15PM
Yea, 45 titles coming out for PS3 in 2006.....
Rumor titles.... TBA titles.....
The whole list is BS!
dirtyone @ Feb 3rd 2006 9:27PM
better get your boots on, the shits getting deep in here
Stuka @ Feb 3rd 2006 9:32PM
Going on the assumption that this list is right (like I said in the 360 list post, IGN isn't exactly the best source for trustworthy news) then looks like I won't be buying a PS3 until 2007. There is one game I want that PS3 has got right now, and that's a little game called MGS4: Guns of the Patriots. If it's not out until 2007, fuck a PS3 until 2007.
The ironic thing is the PS3 list has about as much if not more 1st and 3rd person shooter games and action adventure games as the 360 list.
lazy @ Feb 3rd 2006 9:46PM
OMFG!
I NEED a ps3 NOW! TBA from developer is going to kick ass
CapAmerica @ Feb 3rd 2006 10:09PM
Wow I was hopeing for at least 1 game that I would want for the PS3, but that list has nothing I want. At least the 360 had 20 games and the Rvolution has 8 games I wanted to play.
I really hope the PS3 gets some better games.
This list isn't giving me much hope for the PS3.
valisol @ Feb 3rd 2006 10:12PM
Wow.
Out of those 45 games, the only one I'm interested in is Soul Calibur. (Same thing with the 86 Xbox 360 games)
But, out of the 23 games in IGN's Rev game list, there's SSB, Metroid Prime 3, a Camelot RPG, *and* Soul Calibur. Plus, there's still the 'Cube's Twilight Princess.
griff tha ripper @ Feb 3rd 2006 10:15PM
i soooooo want unreal tournament 2007!im rooting for ps3 but nintendos close behind.this tba list looks pretty valid.ive seen a few "behind the scenes"stuff about the ps3 like its specs and its graphics and some games so go ps3 all the way!
Lekko @ Feb 3rd 2006 11:17PM
And yes ladies and gentleman, this is where the real battle lines are drawn. You can have all the flops and Live and fancy controllers you want, but that doesn't matter without these games.
There are about 2 titles for the 360 I would have to buy, 7 on the PS3 (not counting MGS4, GT5), and 3 (that I know of) for the Rev. maybe more, maybe less depending on more info on them.
My tastes in games lie with PS3 and the Rev. Those I look forwards to the most. -peace
audioeric @ Feb 3rd 2006 11:47PM
LOL..
Sony Hype.. Fool me once, shame on you.. Fool me twice, shame on me..
I'll believe it when I see it.

Kamikaze @ Feb 3rd 2006 11:54PM
Killzone on the PS3 looked like such overkill in the E3 demos, Alan Wake also had some good graphics. I also am looking forward to the next installment of GTA which will sweat my pants, because they always do, and it'll be better on the PS3 anyway.
Kn1ves @ Feb 4th 2006 12:03AM
somebody count how many original games there are vs. sequels... 1/45? 4/45?
Keldon @ Feb 4th 2006 12:26AM
lol these lists are always pathetic since not even half the games ever come out on time.
Jeff @ Feb 4th 2006 12:39AM
"Rockstar Old West PS3 Project [Untitled] : ( Action ) Published by Rockstar Games , developed by *TBA"
In other words, Red Dead Revolver.
I love some of these. How about this one?
"SCE London "Exploding Gas Station" PS3 Project"
That made me laugh for some reason.
"Rumor titles.... TBA titles....."
They're not rumor titles, these have all been "announced" in one way or another (so technically not "TBA" either). That doesn't mean the list can't or won't change (it will) but it's a little more substantial than just some idiot from IGN speculating. These games have all been mentioned by Sony or the publishers themselves.
I also understand those who say they're only excited about one or two titles, but the fact is you haven't even seen half of these. How do you even know if you're going to be excited by a game like Bladestorm yet? You don't even know what it is.
Give it a few more months and then we'll see what bubbles up. You can't judge anything from a list like this yet, but I personally think the ratio of original games to sequels is a lot more encouraging than it is in the Xbox 360's list of "launch window" titles.

Brad @ Feb 4th 2006 1:25AM
I don't know which is more hilarious, 45 games for PS3 in 2006, or PS3 in 2006. Also I see sony is sticking with their philosophy of quantity over quality.
justchris @ Feb 4th 2006 2:14AM
Okay, the exploding gas station thing? That was a tech demo. TECH DEMO, not game. Sony never said they were planning to use it in a game. Personally, I would worry greatly about the fun level of a game where the design document consisted of nothing but an exploding gas station.
And Jeff, how do we know which games we will be interested in? Generally, I go by the developer. I expect to be interested in Bladestorm because it's made by KOEI and I like many (although not all of their games). This list isn't a shopping list, it's to build anticipation. Say what you will about Sony's hype machine, but if we weren't interested in the hype, we wouldn't bother reading this article.
Rare Hare @ Feb 4th 2006 2:19AM
YAWN.
i love my PS2, but i think it may be a little while before the PS3 has the same caliber of game library as the PS2 does..
the only game on that list that i'm actually interested in is Killzone. and i don't even really like first person shooters.
and that brings me to another point.. WAY to many FPS titles on that list. scary stuff.
right now my plan is to grab an Xbox 360 as soon as i've gathered the money for one, and use it as my primary console for a while. then, perhaps late next year i'll pick up a PS3 and/or Rev (depending on the price of the rev).
Tim @ Feb 4th 2006 2:20AM
Comparison
Xbox 360 //// PS3
Soul Calibur / Soul Calibur
Xbox Live / Unknown
400$ / 600$
You decide.
Mars Barrow @ Feb 4th 2006 3:28AM
If even half of these games make it out 2006 (in USA), I will personally buy one PS3 game for every person that posts to this article. This list is all hype, hearsay, and not worth the electrons it was printed on.
Jay @ Feb 4th 2006 6:30AM
Tim...
Xbox 360 /// PS3 / REV
Soul Calibur
Live / Unknown / Nintendo Wifi
$400 / $ 600 / $200
YOU decide.
Tim @ Feb 4th 2006 8:25AM
Live wins.
I have a DS, nintendo Wifi has been awful so far. Countless dropped games, no voice despite a built in microphone, no messaging in mario kart, etc. Nintendo doesn't know how to make a good online game yet.
I'm not saying it isn't hysterical fun, I'm just saying the online is extremely lacking.
dave @ Feb 4th 2006 8:56AM
jay
Nintendo wifi/wtf?

"I have a DS, nintendo Wifi has been awful so far. Countless dropped games, no voice despite a built in microphone, no messaging in mario kart, etc. Nintendo doesn't know how to make a good online game yet."
Yea... seeing as how its their 1st game into the online gaming scene.. im sure its not going to be the best yet... i mean, even xbox representatives say 'it takes years to develop a user base/ground work' etc
on another note..
lets all look at the ps3 games.... i love the innovation
tekken (sequel)
killzone (sequel)
gundam (almost a sequel)
the getaway (sequel)
sonic (inevitable a sequel)
brother in arms 3 (sequel)
half life 2 (port/sequel)
medal of honor (sequel)
bond (sequel... well kinda)
Bruce Wayne III @ Feb 4th 2006 10:54AM
There will be plenty of games.
And then there's the Japanese list:
http://www.scei.co.jp/corporate/release/pdf/050916be.pdf
Rare Hare @ Feb 4th 2006 12:08PM
ok, for those of you saying for sure that the PS3 will cost 600 dollars and that the Rev will cost 200.. do everyone a favor and shut your mouths until you have a clue what you're talking about.
i highly doubt that the PS3 will be anywhere over $500, and that the Rev will be anywhere under $300. they'll most likely be on par with the 360 prices.
i'm just sick of the completely blind speculation some of you spew out.
Rob @ Feb 4th 2006 12:21PM
Wow, between this and the 360 list there's maybe 3 games I want. Looks like I won't be getting next gen for a while.
Tim @ Feb 4th 2006 1:18PM
@22 Kn1ves
So you're saying because nintendo wifi COULD be good in a year, I should praise it.
Why, that would be the most constructive (and retarded) criticism ever given.
Kn1ves @ Feb 4th 2006 2:54PM
@ 26, soon enough ull understand to let things grow. heck i bashed on xbox live too when it 1st came out, and i was wrong i admit cuz it has gotten better.
Lostmimic @ Feb 4th 2006 3:27PM
@Rare Hare
Rev will be at most 300$ read back a few months on joystiq, sure im guessing the price will most prob be 299.99 but im hopeing for a nice 250ish price range (Wishfull im sure).
You cant compare the Rev to the core 360unit, if anything you would have to compare it to the bigboy 360, and yea ps3 is most probably be 500$ but it wouldnt suprise me it went to 600$ at all.
Currently I own a 360, bought it because I was console-less and I loved playing live at my buddy's place. The game release push backs really annoyed me, but luckly Ive been game swapping with a few of my friends so it has kept me entertained.
Im probably gonna say no to the PS3 and if the backward game cateloge(sp) looks good to me ill be picking one up for some nice NES/SNES action, along with the fun list of games im sure Nintendo will come out with.
