Like we said before, we
love what the Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2 does for us. We were, however, bummed that it didn’t have any sort of mass
storage built-in. Engadget
reported back in January that the next version of the device, the Recorder III, would be released sometime in the
3rd Quarter of this year and would sport a hard drive. They also mentioned that an updated model of the
Recorder II would also be released prior to the launch of the Recorder III, but didn’t give any specifics about
its release within Q2. If you’re still with us, and if you’re still curious about when exactly the Recorder
II will be seeing the light of day, you can stop wondering right about…now.

Here’s the e-mail that breathed life into this post and caused it to wreak terror in idyllic countryside towns:
hello PSPFANBOY,
I emailed neuros (the ones with the mpeg recorder 2) and they said that they are
planning to release a new update to their mpeg recorder in may that features a hard drive.
I emailed this
message to them:
Hello,
I have not yet purchased the Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2 because I am
waiting for Hard Drive support. Is there any chance that your company
could sell an attachment for the Neuros
MPEG-4 Recorder 2 that would
allow an HD, or should I just wait for the Recorder 3. The reason I want
an HD
is because I have a PSP with a 1gb memory card, which I dont think
is sufficient enough to record multiple tv
shows, like a tivo does.
Thanks for taking the time to read my email,
Graham R.
and they emailed back this message to me:
Thanks for writing Graham. We're planning on
introducing a model with a
hard drive around May, so stay tuned for updates.
Joe
