PSP email & GPS could be coming soon
According
to a leaked article from the
infamous March edition of
PSM, a future PSP firmware upgrade could include an email
program. While users can already access email through the PSP's web browser, "Sony Mail" would not require
the use of the browser. Sony Mail accounts would be associated with the PSP's unique ID numbers, but users would be
free to create a unique name.
In addition, Sony might release the GPS add-on (first shown at E3 2004) later
this year. The package would include the GPS peripheral, which connects via the USB port, and a UMD, containing the
software and street maps. Future street data updates would be sold on additional UMDs. The GPS add-on has not been
priced.
