Gamasutra is running a synopsis of an article
Forbes did about the PS3's powerhouse processor, the Cell. The powers-that-be of computing have come together to create
one muscular (and expensive!) chip. Costing IBM, Toshiba and Sony upwards of $400 million, the Cell took five years to
develop and will cost a lot more to produce. With those kind of figures, how much better is it than the competition? How about 50 times more powerful than the best Pentium processors on the market. PS3 Fanboys will be rejoicing before too long (but our wallets won't).
