The evolution of the Revolution controller

A forum poster over at GAF has stumbled upon a collection of scans from what appears to be a book published by Nintendo designed to recruit college graduates, although we're not entirely sure of the book's origin. The scans show a wide range of purdy images relating to Nintendo; from the creation of the Revolution controller (pictured above) to

Even revolutions have to evolve!

This is sick! Where'd they get this?
Wolf @ Feb 8th 2006 3:25PM
It's not a guide for snaking, it's a storyboard of the sequence that plays whenever you've finished a cup in Mario Kart DS.
Prodigy @ Feb 8th 2006 3:27PM
Guess I didn't submit it quick enough.. *sigh* Oh well. Any Rev news is good news!
Navstar @ Feb 8th 2006 3:28PM
Cool book. Is it an annual stockholder's report? They usually are super high-end print jobs.
B @ Feb 8th 2006 3:30PM
Wow, the Revolution was originally going to come with a complimentary vibrator huh... interesting

1st of all...
That book is wicked.
And 2nd that snaking is actually the storyboard for celebration scene in Mario Kart DS.

Wait a minute... joystiq, get engadget japanese to translate those pictures of the book in japanese. One of the guys on the second page of that thread said an image was talking about the revolution's cpu, and he said that it said it was multicore! Quickly! Before some other site does it!
gizmondo_hater @ Feb 8th 2006 3:40PM
wow...that's damn amazing. Once this baby is released i will finally get some eye and arm excercise.
Let's burn some calories people, and evolve America into a Revolution!!!
Art Guy @ Feb 8th 2006 3:43PM
Some of those designs look just an electric razor.
Blizz419 @ Feb 8th 2006 3:56PM
wow took ya a bit to catch onto this one joystiq i had it up on my blog before you did thats unusual lol
BPMΩ @ Feb 8th 2006 4:09PM
Huh... The second controller prototype from the left kinda reminds me of the interface of the touch/scroll wheel iPods (G1 and G2)...
Ryan Williams @ Feb 8th 2006 4:17PM
Haha, #10. That's *exactly* the first thing that I thought when I saw the side profiles image.
Babylonian @ Feb 8th 2006 4:28PM
The fifth side-view design looks less like a razor and more like a Wavebird cut in half.
Petey @ Feb 8th 2006 4:41PM
So why did they remove the analog stick from the wand and go with a D-pad instead?
AJ @ Feb 8th 2006 4:44PM
Am I the only one that sees they are exactly the same all the way through? The first one for the "pointer" is just out with the b button instead of in, and the second nun chuck is a little thicker. The iPod wheel looking think is actually the lites suroundin the Y button (then b button) to show what controller number you are.
AJ @ Feb 8th 2006 4:47PM
NEWS FLASH the one with the analog stick is the nun chuck you retards.
Babylonian @ Feb 8th 2006 4:51PM
The fifth side-view design looks less like a razor and more like a Wavebird cut in half.

FAKE!!!
This just looks like a student's work in graphic design who wants to show off his stuff. Japanese don't Japanize their own brochures.
Superzapper2000 @ Feb 8th 2006 8:12PM
