Update on Alice and Max Payne movies

The Hollywood Byte is a weekly column on Yahoo! covering the convergence of video games and movies. This week they talk with Scott Faye, producer of the movie adaptations of American McGee's Alice and Max Payne. Though they've been in development for about 6 and 8 years, respectively, Faye is confident they'll get made soon.
He says Alice could begin shooting as early as this summer, with Sarah Michelle Gellar in the lead role, and be ready for a 2007 release. The adaptation of Max Payne is a little more tenuous. A screenwriter has just been hired, and they hope to begin filming late 2006, early 2007. We're not holding our breath at this point.

I have been saying for ages that Clive Owen would be the best Max Payne...Sin City proves it all
And he is actually a good actor so the Movie might not suck..that much.

why even make a movie?
The game was the best movie it could have been so just leave it alone.

#1 I don't see why would Max Payne movie $uck? Both Max games had an incredible good storyline - hard to mess it up.

So did the Super Mario movies..but just look how they messed that up. lol
I am hoping they will make it good and Clive Owen would be a start as he lookes a bit like Max Payne and he has that edge to him.
Hollywood can make anything suck if they try hard enough especially with alot of these video games to movie transfers.
I am affraid Halo: The Movie could be the same even with Mr Lord of the Rings on board

The Max Payne games certainly weren't Goth, I believe you may need to re-evaluate your terms. Film Noir? Likely, Satire? Possibly...
Goth? No.

the movie was supposed to come out back in 2000, before the game.
